"Ow!"You wince when your pointer finger is pricked with a small needle. Rolling his eyes, Jin puts the drop of blood from your finger onto a glass slide, and then places the slide into a box-shaped machine.
"Y/N, you literally do this everyday. Shouldn't you be getting used to this by now?" Jin sneers.
"Well, I'm very sorry that I haven't gotten used to having a disease that affects my every waking moment. That's my bad," You retort, sneering back at your physician. Jin just sighs and goes back to shining a light in your ear.
"Someone's PMSing," Jin mumbles under his breath.
"Hey!"
"What? I'm not wrong, am I?"
"That's not the point," You grumble, crossing your arms over your chest.
After taking your blood pressure and poking you some more, Jin finally goes over to the computer to check the blood test results. When he leaves, you slump back on the counter and sigh quietly to yourself.
Because even though Jin was obviously just messing with you, his words were still circling in your head, branding every painful syllable into your mind.
"Shouldn't you be getting used to this by now?"
Suddenly, you felt an outburst of anger bubbling up inside of you. Your heart started to beat faster, and your fingers clenched into fists. How dare he say that to you? He doesn't know anything about how hard it is for you to live like this! He doesn't know how much you long to just be normal.
Unfortunately for Jin, he walked back into the kitchen right as you reached your boiling point.
"Everything looks good on the blood test Y/N. You can go back upstairs now-"
"Just shut UP!" You scream angrily, stomping up the stairs and harshly slamming the door to your room, leaving Jin wide-eyed and confused. He just groans quietly and starts to rub circles on his temples, staying like that for a few minutes before cleaning up the medical supplies that are scattered all over the counter.
Meanwhile, you were still seething up in your room, occasionally kicking or yelling into a pillow. After a few minutes of releasing all your pent-up fury onto your poor pillow, you huff and lay on your back, just staring at the ceiling. Your eyes trace the ridges and bumps of your pale blue ceiling, eventually going further down to look at the rest of your room. The walls are painted to look like the ocean, starting with a dark turquoise at the bottom that gradually transitions into lighter shades as your gaze travels upwards. Tapestries of sunsets and palm trees adorn your colorful walls, as well as a couple framed pictures with your mom and best friend, Jungkook.
You met Jungkook when you were a toddler, a couple weeks after he had been adopted by Jin and Namjoon. Jin had just started his trial period with your family as a nurse, and he had to bring Jungkook along because his husband, Namjoon, had work. The two of you had hit it off instantly, sharing a mutual love for fruit snacks and Dora the Explorer.
You smile thinking about this, but it is replaced with a feeling of guilt when a quiet knock sounds on your door. You reluctantly sit up and straighten out your pillows and bedsheets that had been abused a couple minutes ago.
"Come in," You mumble, already knowing who it was.
Jin gently steps into the room, looking penitent and a little cautious.
