as I open my eyes for the very first time I see my mother. a beautiful rottweiler she is. I try to walk to my mother, but everytime I stand I find myself always collapsing. someday I will walk. but for now crawling will have to work. minutes pass as I finally make my way to my mother. but she walks away. im confused. as I watch her walk to the other pups and completely ignore me. was something wrong with me? what did I do to make my mother upset with me? I lay down tierd and fall asleep.
minutes pass as I awaken to hands around me picking me up. I yelp for my mother's attention. I look around shes nowhere to be seen. I try to call her louder. but nothing happens. im being moved somewheres. where are they taking me? the back door opens and now I find myself outside. one of the humans have some weird thing in their hand. I stop yelping, as I know that my own mother wont come. they walk into a barn I see my mother and my 3 brothers and sister in a box and mother tied to a bar. the human holding me puts me with my siblings. I watch the human hold up that strange thing point one side to my mother. BANG. my ears are ringing my mother drops bleeding. my eyes went wide the other pups yelp and run around but im to in shock to move. I get picked up, and thrown to the ground. my siblings soon joined. one by one. they all screaming, im still in shock, I dont move at all. mainly because if I do who knows what would happen. maybe this is a dream. hopefully ill be safe with my mother tomorrow snuggling with my sister and brothers.
I watch as they leave. I hear the back door open. close. as weak as I am I look back to my mother whos trying to stand. I crawl to her. finally making it to my mom she collapses right infront of me. blood splashes my face.
"go! go far away! don't look back riley. just dont look back I promise you I will be with you. you wont be able to see me but ill be in your heart" my mother says then takes her last breath "I love you, riley"
"mom?" I push her with my nose
"mother?!" I almost shouted tears running down my face I get the strength to walk out of the back gate of the barn and run. like my mother told me to. making it down acouple acres a little girl shouts
"puppy, mommy look!"
"aweh just the cutest little thing!" her mother walks over to me and picks me up
"must be from toms farm" she looks at the blood around my face
"something isnt right bout you lil fella"
"mommy can we keep him? pleeeaaaasseeee" the little girl beggs and beggs
this must be the life I dreamed of a happy family to love me. this little family cant do any harm to me. as so I thought.

this is the story of my dog before I got him. I was told he was abused when he was a pup growing up. im so glad we saved him. <3
