The wolf and the rabbit [Molly POV]

Molly watched as the human child was brought up the hill towards her and their horses. The child seemed to shrink as she approached. "come on kid", she said mounting her black mare, gathering the reins.

Eden was shaking as she was helped onto her little horse,she didn't look at Molly instead staring at ground.

Alaric came beside Molly putting his hand on the horse's neck "take it easy on her okay"

Molly scoffed looking away "Yes alpha".

Alaric raised a brow "hey, I'm serious the child has been through enough".

Molly glared at him pulling back on the reins as her horse stepped forward "Are you forget how her kind drove us into hiding and killed hundreds of are kind".

"Molly that girl is not those people, shes to young to have learned their ways of killing" Alaric's brows furrowed as he stroked her horses neck,"if one of us grew up in the world of the humans we to would have learned the ways to hate and kill wolves"

Molly looked over her shoulder to find Eden listening intently, she looked back at Alaric "don't expect me to be to nice".

Alaric gave her a faint grin "good luck".

"I will" she kicked her horse moving forward, Edens horses following behind. They picked up the pace as they nears the fence, People opened the gate as the neared.

Eden looked at they as the past into the woods "whats the woods called..." she murmured looking at Molly.

Molly looked at her brow raised " why?"

Eden flinched " don't all forests have names?"

"Not all" Molly said looking ahead "this one though is called the Black woods"

"The Black woods" Eden repeated.

They rode through the woods, every so often coming to a stop their horses getting spooked at what lay in the shadows.

This was the farthest Molly had ever been from her pack as the farther she got the more alert she became, The woods hadn't gotten its name for no reasons. Many deadly things both mortal and immortal haunted the shadows.

Eden hadn't said a word the hole time besides the question about the forest, the kid had been as vigilant as a deer on an open plain.

Darkness loomed making it harder for Molly to navigate the forest "we should stop for the night"

"Here?" Eden blurted, Molly couldn't even see her expression in the darkness "yes here" she growled dismounting her horse and tying it to a small tree, Edens pony followed,the small human reluctantly getting off as it stopped.

Molly rolled her shoulder, kneeling down to pick kindling and fire woods . Eventually the glow of a fire illuminated the dark forest.

Eden sat against a tree her he knees to her chest "Moll-"

"What" Molly cut her off her voice bored.

Eden gulped " It's dark...."

"It's night" Molly put her hands over the fire to warm them "what do you expect"

" I-I'm afraid of the dark"

"Then come near the freaking fire", Molly said through clenched jaws.

The little girl pulled her blanket over her looking up to Molly "can you turn into a wolf?"

Molly shot her head to her" Why would you ask such a thing"

Eden winced "I'm sorry it's just I saw all the other wolves turn but not you, I just thought-"

"That's enough" Molly growled  "Go to sleep"

Eden looked disheartened but obeyed layered by down "night" she whispered, Molly responded was a swift growl.
