We're Equal

Do I dare care for you,
should I ever lie.
Tell me why you did,
and why I can't.
Your sins are tragedies,
but mine aren't.
Your life is worth more,
and so is your future,
I can't even dream about,
a life without torture.
You tell all that it like it is,
but the truth is never simple,
and you know and exploit.
You rip apart every web,
every thread I sew,
but somehow I must cater
to only and only you.
Dump me in your sea of lies,
and your bed of tragedies,
and you'd still be a shining superstar,
and I'd fall on the iron part.
All for equality and rights for all,
but when it comes down to it,
nothing for all.
