Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon in any way, shape and/or form. This is strictly a fan-made story made for the enjoyment of fans with no other profit being made other than said enjoyment. This applies to the story as a whole, not just this prolouge and part, but all chapters and parts as well as any sequels that may come afterwards. I do, however, own the seven characters you are about to be introduced to. For safety's sake, I will be excluding their names for now. You will only be getting a taste of their personalities right now.

Now, without further ado, let the story begin.

ENJOY!!

How could our vacation have gone so terribly wrong so quickly? One moment we were all having fun; my five friends and I running around our camp site playing tag and our parents watching us with smiles and laughs while they finished setting up the camp and started preparing for supper.....

Then the next moment, our camp is being torn apart by what we would later come to know as Digimon.

Our parents hadn't survived the initial attack, that much I was sure of. They had been caught in one of the first few explosions. They couldn't have possibly survived that; they just couldn't have. If they had survived, they'd be horribly disfigured with scars, maybe even missing limbs, for the rest of their lives. But, I couldn't worry about that now as I had a bigger, more immediate problem to worry about at the moment. The monsters were chasing us!

At first they were more interested in fighting each other, but when they had noticed us fleeing the camp, they apparently all agreed that it would be more amusing to mess with us than beat each other senseless and came after us immediately.

Now we were sprinting through the woods as fast as our short 5, 6 and 7 year old legs could carry us. We could hear them crashing through the trees behind us as they tried to catch sight of us, but the combination of our small size and the thick underbrush was working in our favour. That is until it suddenly ended and opened up to a cliff face that was definitely more than a few hundred feet down to the bottom of it. We came to an immediate stop just before we could slip off the edge and backed up a bit.

I looked around at our surroundings and noticed that we weren't just on top of a cliff, but on an overhang that overlooked the valley we were staring at. What made matters worse was that before we could turn around and get off of the overhang, the monsters burst out of the woods behind us and chuckled darkly when they saw that they had managed to corner us.

The wind suddenly picked up and whispered to me as I stood in front of the others protectively.

'Do not fear young one. None of you are destined to have your lives end here. Trust your instincts and grab hold of your true destiny.'

It felt like an electric shock ran through my body at those words. My stance shifted into a more stable one as their footsteps caused the ground to shake as they moved closer to us and I growled as threateningly as I could at them. That only made them chuckle again.

The wind said to trust my instincts, but they were currently telling me to jump! That was suicide! Then again, I didn't particularly want to experience being eaten alive. Backing up slightly, I adjusted my stance again.

"I don't know about you" I started speaking quietly to my friends with a cocky edge to my voice. "But I don't really want to be their supper." I looked over my shoulder at them so they could see the mischievous spark in my eyes and the small grin on my face.
