Annihilation was what happened when the forces of power collided. Some said that it was fated for the two opposing forces to collide in a manner of destruction. Maybe the universe only had room for one of them, either way action was taken into their own hands when he invaded.
The Magic Magic Deer and the God of Gods, opposing forces on a cosmic level. They were fated to take part in a battle that would determine the fate of the world. Only, things are never that simple.
The Magic Magic Deer was a community of magic magic deer, each one holding a portion of the power. That all changed when the God of Gods invaded. He was armed with the deities of the various pantheons from the different cultures. The magic magic deer were unprepared. Under the cover of darkness, when the deer had their backs turns, the army of deities stuck. With the swiftness of the attack the magic magic deer never stood a chance.
The Magic Magic Deer put all they were into that fight. In the end it was not enough. The God of Gods had a way to ensure his victory. The end of that battle was unable to be prevented. The force of pure magic was wilted down to an unimaginable amount. After the invasion only one remained. Nan Doherty was the Magic Magic Deer.
Nan got to work to insure that the God of Gods was never the cause of destruction again. She took away his force of powers. Without the other deities, the God of Gods would be without a domain. He had no power without the other deities. She hid the deities out away from his grasp. He became a god with no domain. There was still danger afoot, Nan was hardly done. Using her power as the Magic Magic Deer she was able to lock the God of Gods away in a prison that would hopefully stand.
The work had only begun for Nan. She knew the danger in the world for people born with magic. There have been witch hunts in the past and the cycle was doomed to repeat. She began to envision a place that would be the safe haven for anyone with magic. Her vision became to build a school that would provide sanctuary. From the outside it would be clocked by the look of normalcy, so that people were unaware of the magical wonders that lay within. The school was created to give magical people a place to be themselves. Spells of protection were placed around the building so that only someone who was magical could enter. Invitations were sent out for students to attend.
The school unbenounced to most was a barrier between the prison that Nan created for the God of Gods. After all she had to keep him close to prevent his escape. His prison was reinforced by a spell cast with the help of some of the teachers. With Nan close by the world was being made safe.
Nan brought in teachers that she knew she could trust in order to ensure the safety of all that attend the school. Some of the teachers gave in supplies in order to power the spell of protection and fuel the barrier keeping the God of Gods trapped.
The battle had only begun. There would another time when the God of Gods and Nan the Magic Magic Deer would battle once more to determine the fate of the world. The school would only hold as protection for so long and the battle was far from over.
Nan feared there was going to be a time when one Magic Magic Deer was not enough, for she only had so much magic. When the fated battle was due to be fought once more she was might have going to need more. She was the only one left, so she would have to be enough. She had to have enough magic to protect the school she created, the students that she had grown fond of. Her magic had to be enough to avenge all of those lost in the previous battle. Her power had to be enough so that the first battle was not repeated. Her power had to be enough for the fate of the world.
There were forces that opposed Nan. After some persistent work she was removed from the school. No one really knew the cause for her disappearances. There were whispers from the teachers involved in the protection spell that she was removed so that actions could be taken so that he could return. Those were pushed aside, and soon forgotten. They had faith in the enchantments, knowing that they could not be easily undone. Even if Nan was not in the building, they would remain. The Idea of him sending someone in should not even have been considered, for his forces were depleted and he would have no means of sending out a message to gather followers. Her disappearance had nothing to do with the ancient battle. They had to hope that was the case at least.
Even in the absence of Magic Magic Deer the school long with the enchantments remained intact. Her magic was strong enough so that it did not need to be replied. The memory of her magic remained, so the school was powered by her ghost. Her power remained. It was not dependent on her being there. The school remained to be safe.
Another battle was beginning. It was the start of a new school year. New students were entering the school facing the battle of schedules and homework and tests. They would be faced with a battle of who they were, entering the building they would have one idea but it would soon prove how little they actual know about themselves. What high school freshman knows the truth about themselves? A new school could mean a new self, if only they knew what to make their true selves.
The fated battle was brushed aside, but far from forgotten. The clock was ticking until the once ancient battle was fought once more. The battle was far from over. The battle was just beginning.
