the next morning, daniel awoke on the ground. he could feel a small pain in his neck as he sat up, looking around at his friends.

his eyes looked over to jonah. his hair had been messy and he cuddled up to a pillow. he held it firmly in his arms, a small smile on his face. daniel smiled to himself as sighed in content.

he let out a yawn as he made his way to the kitchen. throwing waffles into the toaster, daniel jumped up onto the counter and scrolled through his phone.

hearing the pitter patter of footsteps on the hard wood, daniel looked up from his phone. walking into the kitchen, jonah stretches his arms, lightly ruffling his hair.

"good morning." daniel smiled, his eyes looking down to his phone once again. just a few seconds later, he felt large hands being placed onto his knees. he looked up to see jonah in front of him, who then placed his hands on the counter next to daniel.

"morning, dani." he smiled, looking into daniel's eyes. the younger of the two had no words. all he could do was stare. a sly smirk appeared on jonah's face as he saw daniel stare.

daniel's eyes went wide, biting his lip as he looked down to his lap. he had just realized what he had been doing. there was no doubt in his mind that jonah had noticed. the smirk said it all.

"uh, i'm sorry." he whispered, still peering down in his lap. "it's fine. i don't mind it." jonah smiled back.

daniel's waffles had finally popped up from the toaster, saving him from the moment. he hopped down, grabbing them, careful not to burn himself and walked into the living room.

everyone had now been up, sitting on their phones. "woah, woah. keep it down, almost broke my eardrums." daniel rolled his eyes as he sat down in his usual spot on the floor.

"if you keep up the attitude, i just might—" gabbie slapped her hand over her boyfriend's mouth as she spoke. "don't be rude."

daniel chuckled as he too, scrolled through his phone. after just a few minutes, he dropped his phone onto his chest, sighing deeply. "i'm bored."

"hello bored, i'm cor—"

"don't make me smack you."

"oh please, you couldn't hurt a fly."

"maybe not a fly, but i wouldn't pass up on the chance to hurt you." daniel spoke hesitantly. "sorry." he mumbled soon after.

"told you so."
