Hi, I am your author! I will be explaining my version on the Omegaverse.
Omegaverse:
The Omegaverse is an alternative universe where all humans can become pregnant. There are three main roles:
Alpha:
- Alpha is the most dominant of the other three roles.
-Since Alphas are the most superior they hold the best and important positions in government and other organizations.
-They possess pheromones that distinguishes them from other Alphas and from the other roles.
-Alphas are most likely to mate or reproduce with an Omega. They usually go into a rut when they smell an Omega's heat pheromones.
Beta:
-Beta's are the most common of the population.
-They are the most similar to humans, their physique and behaviour are similar.
-Bet'a do not have pheromones, they also cannot smell or respond to it.
Omega:
-The Omega is the rarest out of all the roles. Especially male Omegas.
-Omegas are considered to be lesser ranked because of their heats.
-Their pheromone attracts Alphas in the vicinity.
-Omegas can take suppressants to control their heats, although these suppressants do not work most of the time.
Other Terms:
Pheromone:
A unique smell that distinguishes an Alpha or Omega, this smell also attracts alphas to an Omega during their heat.
Heat:
Heat is a time when the Omega is most fertile and ready to mate, or just hide away until the heat is over. If the Omega is not mated with they release powerful pheromones to attract Alphas if this is too powerful it will also attract Betas. Alphas are very sensitive to this smells and reacts to it by going through a rut. Omegas can take suppressants to control or skip their heat, although these suppressants don't always work.
Rut:
This is when an Alpha is controlled by an Omega's pheromone. This is also their desire to reproduce.
Suppressants:
There are two different kinds of suppressants, there is one for Alphas and one for Omegas. For Alphas, there are suppressants to dull their reaction to an Omega's pheromone, this can also suppress their rut. For Omegas, there are suppressants to minimize its effects, control their heat or completely skip it. Unfortunately, these suppressants do not always work. These suppressants can be taken by tablets or injections.
Marking:
This is where an Alpha and Omega bite at the juncture between the neck and shoulder. Marking is how they proclaim their love and let their scents merge. Marking is also how other people know who mates with who.
Scent Masking:
Everyone is able to keep their role a secret though scent blockers or a scent mask. The use of these scent blockers is to promote equality and to give Omegas more chances. In some office jobs, Omegas and Alphas need to mask their scent to equalize.
