I sighed as Mum drove into the Addison's Apartment parking lot. The building was a bland compared to the one we used to live in. Ever since the incident with me and my dad, we just decided to move; I couldn't sleep with the pain and haunting familiar items to Dad around me. The incident happened when I was twelve, and I am now 14 but it still haunts me like it was yesterday.
Once we were parked I pulled up my bandanna so know one could see my nose and lower half of the face. I was too lazy to put on the prosthetic I wear to cover my mouth right now.
"Mkay, will you help me bring boxes in before you run off to meet people?" Mum asked me, while opening the trunk of the car. I grabbed some boxes and started grabbing boxes from the back.
~time skip because I don't think y'all want to hear about caring in boxes.~
I collapsed on the couch in our apartment after about a hour of bringing boxes in. Luckily, no one seemed to be in the hallways while I brought my stuff in. I was about to turn on the TV but then Mum walked in from the kitchen.
"Don't you think you should at least meet a few people before you watch your shows." Mum chuckled, sitting on the couch with me. I nodded and slowly got up from the couch, shuffling lazily to my room to find my prosthetic. I grabbed the first box, which was just full of clothes, the second box had my multi colored prosthetics in it. I grabbed a white one and slipped it on my face.
This is what her/your prosthetic looks like, it comes in different colors. ^^^^
I pulled my hair out of the back and just covered the back of it with my hair. I walked to the living room and Mum was watching The Bird Box.
"Wearing white today, huh." Mum paused the movie and looked at me.
"Yeah, it kind of matches with this outfit." I walked to the apartment door and opened it a crack. "Bye Mum."
I left our apartment room and stepped into he hallway. We are living in room 404 on floor 4. I think there are like, six floors, counting the basement. I walked to room 401. I knocked on the door and heard a faint, "come in." From inside.
I opened the door, which wasn't locked and walked in. Their was a, what looked like, a man in his twenties or teens. He had a massive bright red mohawk.
"Oh, hey. I thought you might be the other new kid or something." He said, resting his arms on his knees.
"There is another new kid?" I asked curiously, looking around.
"Yeah, he lives in apartment 402. Arrived here a couple days ago."
"Oh, well I just wanted to meet my neighbors." I said, walking towards the door.
"Ok, well come over and talk whenever you want. I got plenty of time." He said, looking at me.
"And what is with the mouth guard thing?"
"Oh, it's a prosthetic." I hesitantly said, hoping he wouldn't ask why I had it.
"Well damn, it's cool." He chuckled. "Just like the other new kid's."
"Thanks and what was the last part?" I asked, opening the door.
"Nothing, just have a good day." He said, waving.
I waved back and stepped out of the room. I guess I should go meet the new kid, I hoped he is around my age so I have someone my age to hang out with. I walked up to apartment 402 and knocked. The door opened quickly and I saw a man with blue hair. He had a friendly smile on his face but he looked very tired.
"Hello, my name is Y/n Ln and I just moved in today. I am just going around to meet everyone." I said shyly.
"Oh well hello, my name is Henry Fisher, and you can just call me Henry." He told me kindly. I nodded and I smiled under my prosthetic at who he didn't seem to mind the mask.
"Hey, sal our new neighbor is here to greet us!" Henry yelled into his apartment room.
I watched from behind Henry as a boy with a mask and blue hair in pigtails walked out from one of the rooms. He instantly seemed to spot me behind Henry and his icy blue gaze locked with mine, but then traveled down to my prosthetic."Hello." I said shyly, again.
"Hi, my name is Sal, but you can call me Sally face." He said walking towards me and his father.
I nodded and then he turned to his father, "I am going to Larry's and you can come too if you want to." He turned back towards me and I nodded.
"Just follow me."
I said bye to his dad and followed Sal to the elevator. I could tell he was looking at my prosthetic as we entered the elevator. It was an awkward silence between us as we reached the basement. He brought me to a room, and I could hear really loud music combing from it. We walked in and I saw a tall teenager maybe a bit older than me head banging.
Sal quickly walked over to the dudes radio and turned it off. The dude, probably Larry immediatly stopped head banging.
"Dude, what was that for?" Tall dude groaned, not noticing me.
"Well, if you haven't noticed we have a guest." Sal said, guesturing to me.
Tall dude immediately turned to me, smiling. "Oh, sorry dudette, my name is Larry."
"My name is Y/n." I walked over to Larry to give him a handshake, but he just hugged me instead.
I awkwardly hugged him back and we parted quickly, trying to get rid of the awkwardness. Once we parted I saw that he had noticed the prosthetic.
"Cool thing you've got there." Larry said, pointing at it. "What is it for?"
"It's a prosthetic."
