Yoongi looks up from his letter received from the high council and can't believe it.

"Are they fucking serious?"

He half-crumples and tosses the paper on the coffee table and makes his way to the kitchen.

The high council are the ones that handle all things soulmate related, gathering information since birth, allowing them to foresee their soulmates first words to one another. Because of their extensive research and ancient knowledge, they've never been wrong in any soulmate case.

The only problem being that the words may have been spoken to the person before you receive the letter, without knowing.
Thus having smaller chances of meeting your soulmate, if theres the chance you met them before without knowing. Yoongi's roommate Jin, sits on the couch and picks up the tossed paper from the table. He downright starts keeling over laughing because if anyone would has this bad of luck it would be Yoongi. "Stop laughing! This is terrible, it has to be a mistake!"

Yoongi's in the process of thudding his forehead against the fridge in hopes that he's still dreaming and will wake up soon. Between laughs Jin looks over to Yoongi trying to knock himself out now on the kitchen counter "You know the council never makes mistakes, this is definitely your soulmates fir— would you stop that already!"
Yoongi freezes mid head smack to the counter and looks up to his roommate now standing at the bar stools across from him. Sighing Yoongi stands up straight, "Do you realize how many people have already said this to me, or will say it?"

"Yes, yes i know all about your coffee addiction, but you just have to be more aware now that you know!" He knows Jin is trying to be supportive but he can't think of a worst situation.

"Not everyone can have it as easy as you and Joon," Yoongi, now grabbing at the paper from his roommates hands, "He literally spewed out the dumbest shit about crabs to you when you first met."
"Ah my Joonie and his crab obsession"
Jin sighs dreamingly and drapes himself over the counter head in hand & Yoongi takes that as his cue to leave to find solitude in his room.

Instead of deciding to go with it and continuing his day regular life in music production, Yoongi decides that the best way to avoid constant confusion of who his soulmate is, he decides that cutting out any opportunity of going into any Starbucks is the only 'logical' solution. It works for a while too, there being so many other coffee shops near campus and around the city he can go too, it turns out to not be such a hard thing to avoid Starbucks like the plague.

Yoongi manages to last a year of avoiding Starbucks until it gets to a point that he starts to feel like a small hole has started to form in his chest. Its a hollow feeling, the fact that his soulmate could be out there and he's not making any effort to try and find them. It's not like he hasn't thought about it. More nights than he can count, were spent sleepless, immersed in his thoughts surrounding 'what ifs' and 'should haves'. But Yoongi knew he couldn't do that to himself.

Getting his hopes up like that, only to be crushed when they turn out not to be the one.
