Behind the Limelight

Chapter Two: The Invitation

I was so lazy to wake up today but I have no choice. I have guesting schedule to some TV show and I am obliged to come.

Kyro would be with me wherever I go from now on. Today would be his first appearance. I know media and people in entertainment industry gonna ask who he was.

The plan was, he is going to play as my road manager and he will be seen most of the time with me. I don't want to be bombarded with suspicions and issues so that will be his cover. Because they know that I don't hire bodyguards wherever I go.

For sure paparatzi would go around of my place unstoppable just to invade my little privacy.

"Aanya wait!" I halted. What this guy need again? Can he stop chasing me to give him a date?

I waited patiently because I don't want to be rude. I sigh. " What is it Luke? If this one you'll be asking for a date my answer is still no. "

He rub the back of his neck. How many times do I need to turn him down. " Uhm....I know you are thinking that I'll be  asking you out again but hear me first, will you? "

" Okay " I said, keeping myself to roll my eyes.

He smile before he start. " This weekend...uhm...it's my sisters eighteenth birthday and she was asking if I could invite you to her party. "

I stare at him.

" It's okay if you can't come. But if ever you would like to and change your mind " He took a breath before handling me the invitation.

Luke was a nice guy actually but I don't feel him as my guy. Well it wasn't bad if I give this one to him, for his sister birthday. It wasn't a date after all.

He was about to turn but I stopped him. " wait! " I said " I'll be there "

" thank you Vee? " He unbelievingly said. Then he hugged me. I did not expect that. I was in shock to reply.

He broke the hug when we heard Kyro from the back.

"Thank you!" He chearfully said before returning back to the building.

Luke

I was glad that she accepted the invitation. Asking her over and over for a date was a stupid idea. I really like her, even though how many times she would turn me down.

I can't stop smiling. I am really so happy that even though the reason that she had agreed was because of Annie.

Victoria is not like other girls that would grab anything they can. She knows how to stand for her decision and stubborn sometimes.

"What with the face Luke? " Iñigo said " have you already make her say yes? "

I shook my head " No "

He gave me a curious look raising one of his brow.

I just shrugged and continue walking.
This day was so tiring. I slam my body to the couch on my living room.

I was about to get my phone from my purse when something was dropped. I pick it up. It was the invitation that Luke handed to me earlier, it was his sister's birthday. I almost forgot it would be tomorrow.

"What was that?" Kyro ask, referring to the card.

"An invitation for a birthday party"

I remember the first time I met Annie. She was an adorable girl. Kind a bit shy at first and very talkative when she got acquainted with you. She has a lot of questions for everything that was new to her. She was a smart, you can tell, playful and funny.

" Are you going? " Kyro ask.

I don't mind going.

" yeah. A person turn eighteen only once. " I replied. He just shrugged and left.

He never mind asking again. I knew he was kinda bit no fun of socializing to anyone.
