I felt the wind rushed through my hair as my legs dangled on the terrace's railings. I took in a deep breath trying to feel the fresh air and sighed. "This is soo boring." I muttered to myself as I stretched my arms. I looked back at my room to see the stacks of CDs next to my owned consoles and computer. I already finished all of them and I can't seem to find a good game where it would keep me busy for the whole summer vacation. I sighed once more and looked at the tall buildings ahead of me. School still won't start around August but it's still the end of March.
Someone knocked on the door and I looked behind me. It must be Ace again who's gonna show me another game. He hasn't even finished his other games and here he is. I swear he's just wasting his money. "Amelia! Can I come in?" Ace shouted and I sighed. "Yeah, just wait a second!" I said as I turned around and jumped down the railings. I walked inside and opened the lights inside my room.... Speaking of room, I guess I need to clean my room because it's so messy. I opened the door to see Ace smiling at me. "Here!" he smiled and gave me a plastic bag with the familiar logo of all gamers most trusted game store. I took it from him and peeked inside the bag to see two boxes. "They're the same games so just pick whichever you want." he said.
"Yeah, yeah I know since you always want to battle me in every game that you buy." I said as I took one of them, not even caring which is which. "Uhmm, no. You owe me around 5,452 Yen." He said as he held out his other hand and I scoffed at him. "Yeah right, whatever." I said as I put my other hand on the door and slammed it right in front of his face.
"Oh that's just rude!" he shouted and I laughed. "How many times have I given you armor and cool costumes huh?" I said as I walked towards my bed and sat on the edge of it. The door opened to reveal a frowning twin brother and I resisted the urge to laugh. "At least you should have let me in." he muttered as he entered and closed the door behind him. "So what's this?" I asked as I inspected the box. Wait.... This is... "Second Life, the most awaited game of all gamers." Ace smirked.
"When was this released?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at him. He sat down next to me and I felt the bed slightly bounce from his weight. "Also, you're getting heavier." I said.
"Shut up." He said with a roll of his eyes. "Anyways, this was released yesterday and the stock just got here a while ago in the store." He smirked. "I got the first one and just because I was their most loyal customer. They gave me another one just for you."
"... How the heck would they even know about me when you're the one who always buy over there?" I asked him with a confused look. "'cause you're the most famous gamer in the gaming world and they knew you're my sister." He proudly smirked and I rolled my eyes at him. "Either that or you just boast about it to get fame." I muttered.
"Yeah, right. They're also kinda hoping that you buy some games from them or something." Ace said as I opened the box to reveal a circle that kinda looks like a bomb. "What the heck is this?" I muttered.
"Honestly Amelia. Don't you know how to use this?" Ace chuckled as he took the bomb. He pressed something and it expanded into a helmet. "Must have forgotten it." I said as I stuck my tongue out at him. I wore the said helmet and a black screen appeared, covering my eyes. I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. Even though it's still morning, my consciousness seems to slip away until I felt like going into a different dimension.
I opened my eyes and I looked around. Everything is pitch black for some reason and I looked around.
"Greetings! Welcome to Second Life!"
I jumped up a little in surprise and turned around to see a boy sitting on a floating couch... What? I didn't know that those things exist. "First player, please wait a moment... I will commence the infrared and sound wave scan. From now on, as you put on your game helmet, you can start playing second life!" he smiled. He looks around my age, maybe around 19 or 20.
Two metallic spheres appeared behind his couch and hovered over towards me. Each of them went to my side and emitted a red light from their screens.... I patiently wait until the red light is gone. The spheres went back behind the couch. "Okay, you are now ready to create your character. Before creating the character, I must warn you, you have only one chance to design a character. Once the character creation process is complete, your race, name and looks cannot be changed." He said.
"Also, you can only have one character." The boy added. "If your character dies, they will be reborn at the rebirth point, but you will lose a level."
"Got it." I said as I nodded. "Good, you can now start creating your character." He smiled and I immediately felt myself divided into pieces, making me instinctively close my eyes. Damn... that just hurts... a lot.
I opened my eyes and I see myself surrounded by other races. "First, choose the race you like. They are basically divided into humans, elves, dark elves, dwarfs, celestials, elementals and beasts." The boy said.
I looked around the races and felt myself smile a little. I get the feeling that this would be exciting. "Can I see myself as a celestial, and elf?" I asked.
"Sure thing!" the boy said and snapped his fingers. Is he trying to show off or something? I rolled my eyes at him with a small smile.
My celestial form and elf form appeared. So basically, a celestial being is just an angel thing. "I'll choose the elf then." I said and the celestial disappeared. I tilted my head to the side as I try to think of an appearance that would not be easily forgotten. "If possible, can you make her hair white and her eyes blue?" I said and the said features were immediately changed.
"I guess I'm done." I said with a slight shrug.
"You still don't have a name for your character." The boy said. I looked at him then at my elf body. "Angel." I smirked and the boy nodded.
"Okay for the last part, where do you wish to be born? There's north, east, south—"before he can even finish I cut him off.
"South." I said and he nodded. "Got it! Enjoy Second Life!" he smiled. I felt my soul being dragged to the elf body and I fell.
My eyes slowly opened and I sat up. "A-Ah. It hurts." I whispered as I rubbed my head and I looked around. Where am I? Oh wait... This must be a beginning town then.
I looked up at the sky and smirked. It's time for a new adventure and a new life.
