CHAPTER TWO

Today was Monday and everyone was getting ready for the first day of school. Iwa and I decided to skip breakfast so we headed to class immediately we left out hostel.

On our way to class, I saw a new guy, I guessed so because I hadn't seen him before. I could even hear some girls sighing dreamily as he walked passed them, coming in our direction.

I asked. "Who is he?"

"Oh he's the new guy" she replied. "He's so cute right?"

As he walked passed me, he looked at me and continued.

"Yeah!" I muttered. We continued our journey to class. Iwalewa and I were in the science class, Emem was in arts class while Jenny and Ada were in commercial class. Unfortunately, Byshelle and her gang members were in my class too, deceiving themselves.

Assembly was due in five minutes or even less. I just rested my head on my desk while Iwa struggled to complete her assignment. She never does them in time.

Gradually, Students strode into their various classes. I even noticed some of the students already their phones. I also noticed the new guy with Awwal.

Awwal was one of my "school's bad boys" if put in that way. He was the leader actually of a gang they made up and up till now no one knows the full meaning of the gang name except them, the members.

The bell rang, cutting off my thoughts. Iwa was still struggling with her assignment so I brought out mine and handed it over to her.

"Thank you." She smiled. I adjusted my uniform, reapplied my lip gloss, patted my hair down and left for assembly hoping Iwa would be able to finish up before the assembly prefects that were chasing got to our class. Amongst all my friends, she was the closest to me.

After assembly had ended, we went to our various classes to began our normal classes. First period was a double period, we had physics, we all had to go to the lab for the subject.

Second period was another double period, we had biology and then chemistry was the last subject before break.

Shitty timetable.

Sometimes, I feel like the writer of out timetables is really heartless. After Physics, biology, then chemistry. Like what the hell do they expect us to learn?

Most times after physics class, my brain would've knocked, topping that with Biology then Chemistry. Dead.

Once the bell for break period went off, I literally sprinted out of the class, in the process, bumping into Seyi causing him to loose his balance but surprisingly didn't fall.

He joked. "They sent you abi?"

I hissed playfully. "Yes!"

That night, Seyi and I ran for our dear lives. Thankfully, the housemaster that almost caught us was the most senior staff so he was already too old to run it he decided to chase after us.

"I know it's because of food, you're running like this" He teased. "Foodie like you."

Teasing me was his best hobby.

I hissed.

"Are you going there too?" I asked ignoring the fact that he just called me a foodie. I was already so used to it.

He nodded. "Let's go!"

"You're sponsoring me today o!" I stated along the way.

He gave a short reply. "Dreams"

Idiot of a best friend.
