The rumor was he's deadly and dangerous. But you couldn't imagine what might be so dangerous in a spoiled prince. The young and handsome Oberyn Martell was a guest of your father, Lord Uller only for a couple of weeks till he can get back on his ship and continue his traveling all over the world.
Indeed he was a very attractive man and had an enticing charisma that made him a magnet for people of all ages. But there was one person on the feast that was definitely not impressed: you. That might have been part of why his dark and beautiful eyes were always glued to you.
His honorable attention was flattering but you were used to the admiring looks and you were rather fascinated by the ships he came with. From the balcony, you watched them rocking on the water easily as if they were autumn leaves.
"Lady Ellaria, if I am not mistaken!" A raucous yet refined voice said from behind you. You turned to bow proper respect for the Prince of Dorne.
"Ellaria Sand, my Prince. I'm not a lady." You said with a touch of edge in your voice. Your father was Lord Uller but you were carrying the bastard surname "Sand" like all bastards in Dorne.
"You're a bastard?" He asked, tauntingly as he approached you but he couldn't get you embarrassed.
"Well, they say bastards are born from passion."
The friction between the two of you had been running high as you were talking. He couldn't have hidden his attraction for you if he wanted to. The dark pupils in his brown eyes were open wide, his heart pounded and his mouth was suddenly nearly too dry to speak when you smiled at him with that coquettish smile on your lips.
"Ellaria!" Your father called you interrupting your flirting.
"Great! You've already got on very well with our guest. Prince Oberyn wishes to see our estate so you'll show him around tomorrow. The groom boy will saddle up two horses in the morning." He said and you tried to hide your expression of distaste, but failed.
"Tomorrow morning? But my..." You protested but Lord Uller scowled at you defiantly.
"Yes, father." You mumbled and risking the Prince's displeasure you walked away without a word, leaving the two men blinking and puzzled.
The morning passed most pleasantly away; despite his noble origins, you have found the Prince's personality very interesting and your prejudice toward him has slowly dissolved. In the next few days, you were roaming regularly to the lake at the end of the estate and Oberyn thanked you every day with gifts or with his own poems for the kind company that you provided.
He soon realized that it wasn't just your appearance what aroused his inescapable desire for you. You were smart, forceful, foolhardy and fierce with a barbed tongue and tough attitude. You had everything to had him tied around your finger. You knew it very well and you were delighted to tease him day after day.
"Compared to how much you hated at the beginning, now you seem to like my companionship." He said referring to your behavior on the evening of his arrival.
"I know, I can be a little bit hothead sometimes." You affirmed and threw a pebble into the lake.
"A little bit, huh?" He chuckled and you rolled your eyes.
"I was upset because I should have been on fight training." Your words had him stunned. He would have not thought you could amaze him even more. But you did.
"Of course you fight as well." He smirked admiringly and added:
"You know, I could teach you some moves if you want." He said and you couldn't help but laugh.
