Chapter 3

"It happened once, baby..."
"No, Roger, it's happened almost every single night since I'm here with you. And it never was with me. What am I doing here...?" Her voice was about to crack and she was almost crying.
"It won't happen again!" He tried to hold her hands so she wouldn't burst into tears "I promise."
"I don't trust you anymore, I shouldn't have come... I shouldn't have believed you..." she finally started sobbing.
"You came here because I asked you to. But you're free to go." He sighed sadly, letting go of her hands and stepping back.
"You've already replaced me anyways..." she wiped her tears away and started packing up her stuff.
"How am I going to replace you if we were never a thing...?" Roger frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.

She grabbed her bags and suitcase and was about to leave, but she stopped at the door as soon as she felt a feeling of regret. She gulped and sighed, turning to him, who was lighting up a cigarette by the window.

"Roger, I..." she mumbled. "I'm sorry..."
"I'm the one who's done wrong here, apparently... why don't you just leave?" The man frowned, dragging on his cigarette.
"Because I have nowhere to go. I don't have any friends near, my family is far away and I also have no money... and... I don't know... I guess there's no way back once I decided to come with you..." she put her stuff down and sat down on the floor.

Roger felt bad for her. He sighed and left his cigarette on the ashtray to then approach her and sit with her.

"If you become my girlfriend now, I won't cheat on you or treat you badly, alright...?" His voice sounded much calmer and sweeter than before and that made her smile a little.
She nodded and hugged him tightly, burying her face in his neck as he pulled her close against his chest. Roger kissed the girl's head repeatedly, rubbing her back carefully. He felt bad for having hurt her. After all, she was just a child but he was in love with her and he'd never felt such a strong feeling for any other girl. But luxury and lust mixed with alcohol and drugs put aside his feelings for her most nights.
