He protected her. He kept her safe. Oh how she wanted to be more then just friends. She wanted to scream to the whole world how she feels but she can't.. she was too scared. Everyone in the past made her feel like she was never enough but he showed her that she was so much more. She didn't want to tell him how she felt because she couldn't ruin this amazing friendship. She couldn't go back to being that sad lonely girl that sits by herself at lunch, not because she can't make friends and everybody thinks she is a loser, that's not the case at all. She sits by herself because she doesn't want to be surrounded by these fake people just pretending to like you. She doesn't want anybody to get close to her. She sits at that lunch table all alone listening to music because she is guarding her heart. She finally found someone who cares, who makes the sharp pain in her heart go away. His name was Mateo. She loved that he helped feel again. He helped her realize that she was worth love. She tried so hard to guard her heart around him but something about him made the walls around her heart melt. She then has the courage to speak up and tell him how her heart felt. She needed to tell him, she had to. She got out of her bed that was filled with pillows and walked out the door. As she ran down the road to tell her lover how she felt the rain patted on her back. She felt a gust of wind combing through her hair. And at that moment while she wants through the streets with her felling of love begging to spill out, she felt okay.
