A 14 year old girl needs money so she asks people that pass her on the streets of New York. What happens if she runs in to an extremely caring guy that goes by the name Lin-Manuel Miranda?
I wake up at six am and grown. I guess it's time to start the day! Yay... can't wait! I mentally eye roll.
Before you ask. No I'm not some snotty kid who complains about homework, though I do hate it, I'm complaining because my life is actually hell! I don't have parents and I have scraps for clothes... anything I can afford I get it.... so not the most stylish look... I don't care about style to much just warmth... it's the middle of winter and you know what I don't have... long pants, or a coat....
I get out of bed and see that most of the girls are up just Jenna is asleep, she always waits till the last minute!
I live in a girls home, nothing fancy my room has six girls in it. Emma, Stacy, Callie, Jordyn, Jenna And well... me London. I'm 14, been here since I was 2. Gotten close to the workers here. I'm just glade it isn't one of those awful places! It not saying I've got it made! We buy our own food, clothes, bedding, bath stuff, school stuff starting at 14! Not even the age to get a job!!
I pick out what I've got... red basketball shorts (two sizes to big) and a black panther shirt (one size two big) after putting them on I grab my converse that I found in a dumpster two years ago! They were brand new!!

I head out the door with nothing simply because I left my school stuff in my locker. It's the first day back after Christmas break. Meaning everyone is going to brag about what they got! It's a nightmare!
As I shiver on my journey to school I realized something... I don't have lunch money today... well I guess I have to ask someone. I hate doing this!
I look around at all the people around me I walk up to a girl with a gray sweater dress on "ma'am do you-" she walks off not even looking at me "sir-" same effect
After about five minutes of strange looks towards and not existing, I come across I guy with a ponytail "sir?" He stopes! Yes "do- do you" it's hard to talk because I'm so cold "oh my god" he looks at me with concern and takes his coat off. What the?
"Here put this on! What are you doing in shorts on and no coat!? It's freezing out!" I look at him dumb founded "I-it's all I had" I wrap the hugs Coat around my small body it could fit two of me and almost hits my knees
"Sweetie I'm sorry! Where are you heading? Let me get you an Uber!" I gasp "no! I can't let you do that sir I-"
"Lin, call me Lin"
"Well Lin... I was going to ask you if I could ge-get money for my lunch... du-during school..."
He goes for his pocket "of corse sweetie How much?"
"F-five"
He hands me a 20! I look at him in shock
"I can't take this!"
He smiles warmly at me "You can and you will! What time dose school start?"
"Nine" his eyes go wide... "it's only 6:30 why are you up so early!?"
I tell him that I have to walk and that I'm from the girls home he takes me to a Starbucks and orders me a hot coco even though I told him several times he didn't need to
"So I just got you an Uber they will be here in 20 minutes" I smile "you didn't have to Lin... but thank you!"
"So London, right?-" I nod and smile "how old are you?"
"Fourteen"
20 minutes past by quickly due do lots of talking... turns out Lin owns two dogs and works on Broadway... not sure what he dose.
The Uber shows up and Lin leads me to the car
"Oh Lin your coat!"
"Don't worry about it sweetheart! Keep it! You need it!" I smile and go in for a hug he was taken back I suppose because he didn't hug back right way but after a second he did I get in the car and wave at him with happy tears in my eyes as the car drive off
