"Neither do I need Love."
=========================
Maria then proceeded to leave the bar, the words leaving a bitter taste in her heart.
Her expression cold as stone and yet with every step she took, she felt her heart brake even more than before. She left a part of herself in that bar with Rose and Xander.
Maria was far away enough that she couldn't hear the sounds of Rose's distressing cries that night at the bar. She also didn't realize she left another broken heart as well.
Maria sighed and walked back to her ship, where her crew was waiting. When she made it to the harbor and was about to climb in, she saw an outstretched hand in front of her. She looked up and there she saw Violet and the rest of the crew smiling gently at her. The sight..made her give a genuine smile back and accepted the outstretched hand. When on board she headed to her post at the back of the ship, that was when she saw the old man begin to steer the ship to the left where they can leave the harbor. She smiled and nodded towards the man who returned the gesture. This was a way of telling her to rest for the day.
Maria looked toward the night sky as she walked to her bedroom, below the deck. The sky was dark and yet shined bright with the millions of stars painted on it. The full moon kissing her tan skin. She took a deep breath and looked down as she headed downstairs to her room.
She took a right and closed the door to her bedroom, then she proceeded to lock it. Once inside her sanctuary, tears began to spill from her eyes. They glistened in the moonlight which brightened the room from the window in front of her.
She let out sobs and slid down her door, hand covering her mouth.
Maria trembled with despair and tried to hold her cries inside. She lowered her head to her knees and wrapped her arms around herself.
'How could this happen..?'
She let out a small whine and let out harsh quick breaths. Maria sniffled and sobbed as she thought back to the day she met Xander.
'Hah. I don't want to think about that. I can't keep loving him, I can't...I can't.'
How did this start?
--------------------------------------------
It was a bright starry night, the time Maria met Xander.
It was the time for an annual festival at the town of desire. What an odd name? most people thought so until they noticed that in the night, the town was lit up by flowers of different types, with dances and cheers all over, but most importantly the carefree joy everyone had on their faces. At that time, I guess you could say love was in the air.
Maria and her crew were out on that night after another successful treasure hunt and after a fight with another pirate ship. One thing to know about Maria is that she is quite the fighter despite her soft beautiful features.
They went into town to drink some booze and also to enjoy the festival. After some time playing games and drinking, they managed to convince a sober Maria to put on a red dress so she could dance like one of the dancers on the stage that was located in the middle of the town's square.
Though it took some convincing.
"Come oN" Violet hiccups then continues "I bEt you can beat all them 'dAncers'" she murmured how they looked like they were stumbling and flaunting their breasts around instead of actually dancing.
"It's a bet easily won, Violet. I already know I can be the better dancer." Maria sighed as she took another drink of her water.
"Oh? Is that right? Then prOve it." Violet smirked as she wrapped one arm around Maria's neck
