(Mini A/N: At the begining of every chapter, if it doesn't say whose POV it is, it's usually whoever's POV from last chapter.)
~~~Time Skip: 3rd Period~~~
The bell just rang. I walked out of math class and walk to my locker.
My locker just happened to be next to Chloe Moore, the school's second most popular girl.
I opened my locker and dumped all my textbooks into my locker. Just as I was about to leave, I heard a voice behind me.
"Going somewhere?"
I turned around. Of course. It was Chloe and her "friends". I tried to push through them, but they wouldn't move.
"You think you can just walk straight through us? No freaking way!"
A voice to my left said, "You think you can bully her. Only I can, Chloe."
I turned my head to the left to see Emily. In my mind, I groaned.
"Why don't we both do the first treatment to her?" asked Chloe.
(Mini A/N: I know I said I wouldn't do it, but in some cases, I need to.)
"Sure, Chloe. She deserves it," replied Emily.
"W-w-what are you guys talking about?"
Emily and Chloe grabbed my arms and dragged me outside to the dumpster.
"C'mon April. You aren't afraid are you? Jump in!" said Emily.
"Jump in, April, and we might let you into our groups," said Chloe.
"Are you freaking kidding me, Chloe?! Let HER into our groups? Why don't you jump into THAT thing?!" hollered Emily.
"I wasn't actually going to let her in, you idiot!"
The screaming kept on going back and forth. Quietly, I slipped away without Emily and Chloe knowing I was gone. I stepped back into the building and walked to lunch. After lunch was over, I walked to my locker and quickly got out my notebook.
~~~Time Skip: 5 Minutes Before the Bell Rings~~~
"Class, we will be working on a project this month. It will be about the scientific method. You will need to come up with an experiment and do research about it. We will not be doing the experiment. Understand?" said Ms. Roberts.
"Yes, Ms. Roberts," replied the class.
"You will be working with a partner---"
The whole class started talking on who they wanted for their partner.
Ms. Roberts cleared her throat.
"As I was saying, you will be working with a partner that I assign to you."
The class groaned. A kid named William raised his hand.
"Yes, William?"
"Why do we have to work in partners?"
"Because, I said so."
"Oh, ok."
Ms. Roberts began to read the names out loud.
"Olivia and Joshua. Kailyn and Maddie. William and Scarlett. Jillian and Thomas. Daniel and Ashley. Michael and Jared. Dennis and Tori. Chloe and Emily. And April, since we are odd, I'm going to put you with Chloe and Emily," said Ms. Roberts.
I simply nodded my head, but in my mind I was screaming. How come I have to be in their group? Why couldn't I be in someone else's group? The bell rang.
"Class dismissed."
I walked out of the classroom and opened my locker. I sighed. Why did life have to be complicated?
"Umm, excuse me April, I believe you're blocking my locker."
I slammed my locker and moved.
"Happy?"
"I wouldn't say happy...look April. I don't have time for this. Come over to my house at five today. And don't be late. I have more important things to do then hang around with a loser."
"Wait, Chloe! I don't even know where you live!"
Chloe didn't turn around. Instead, she got into a car with a guy in it and kissed him. I gasped. Sitting in the driver seat was Mathew, my boyfriend before I moved here. Tears began to roll down my checks. I looked away before they could see I was looking at them.
You see, before I moved here, I had a boyfriend. And his name was Mathew Danis. I had told him I was moving and we were both sad. Then, he told me to call, text, or Skype him whenever. He told me he can try a long distance relationship. So, we actually never broke up. That's the story.
I walked home. Halfway through the walk, rain began to fall. It fell lightly at first, but then it began to rain harder. By the time I reached the fifth block, there was lightning. I looked around trying to find some shelter. I spotted a tree house and the distance and ran to it. I was about to walk into the grass when a car horn honked at me. I turned around. A guy got out of the car and walked towards me with an umbrella.
"You ok?"
"Yeah."
"You're not ok. You're here in the rain. Cold."
He's right. I am cold. I was shivering. He pulled me under the umbrella and took me to his car. I got in the passenger seat and he got into the driver seat.
"I'm Austin."
"Oh, I'm April."
"Nice to meet you, April. So, why were you in the rain."
"Oh, I was walking home from school."
"What school do you go to?"
I hesitated.
"Oak Grove Middle High School."
"Oh, I go there. I'm in the 11th grade. Shouldn't you have a learner's permit or a driver's license by now?"
"I have a driver's license, but today I decided to walk to schoool. And I'm in 10th grade."
"Ok. So where do you live? I can drive ya home."
I told him my address and he drove me home.
"April, could I um have your number real quick?"
I nodded. I told him my number and he nodded.
"Thanks. I'll call you sometime."
"Ok. Bye, Austin. And thanks."
"No problem. It's not everyday I help a beautiful girl."
I blushed. I was glad it was a bit dark. I got out of his car and he drove off. I smiled to myself.
