Emma stayed like that for a few minutes but, to her it felt like hours. Finally, she stood up and wiped away the excess tears from her face. She took two long deep breaths, she didn't know her lungs craved. Her brain was still trying to make sense of everything. However her body knew what to do. Her feet led her to her bedroom. Quickly, she grabbed her midnight black back pack and shoved a series of things in it. As she zipped up the bag her mind slowly began to catch up with her body. Emma grabbed a jacket and swung the bag over her shoulder. Carefully, she shut her door for the last time. Then walked down the stairs for the last time. Her eyes drifted to the front room and saw her mother laying there. Emma gulped. She loved her mum. Of course she did. Her mother was the only thing holding her back. But, her mother pushed to far and now it was Emma's turn to push. The only difference was her mother wasn't as strong. Emma whispered for the last time "Bye mum," and with that Emma raced to the front door. Suddenly, she heard a series of sirens echo through the town getting closer. Emma's heart smashed against her chest. She stood completely still for 3 seconds then reality hit her. Emma ran to the back door placed her hand on the ice cold handle. She quickly glanced back at the scene which had been what she called home for so long. She grasped the handle and left the place which was the birth place for most of her pain. When Emma got out, she targeted to the woods which sat just beside her house. Emma didn't glance back for a second. The sky started to darken making Emma's heart race. She walked slowly through the woods as her brain had finally caught up. Her stomach bubbled with a new feeling she hadn't felt before. Free. She was free. From all of that responsibility. A smile crept on her face. I'm free she thought as a giggle left her lips. She walked full circle and ended up where she began.
The vibrant yellow tape could be seen for miles away. The red and blue lights only added to the effect. A tear of happiness rolled down her face as she whispered "there dead."
