"Mama if that's movin' up then I'm movin' out

"Mama if that's movin' up then I'm movin' out." Brendon sang in a gravel tone as he tapped his finger on the driving wheel to the beat of the Billy Joel song.

The sun was out in lovely L.A. and for once traffic wasn't a pain in the ass. However, even with the nice weather and lack of traffic I still felt quite off about today.

I know I was mostly there to support my friends in their change in hair. No doubt to record thier transformation for Rachel's channel, but deep down I know they are hopping to get me to cut my hair and in all honesty I just wasn't up for it.

Since Brendon could read me like a book I did my best to hide it with insincere smiles and light laughs and for the most part I think it was working.

But boy was I wrong.

We were only four blocks away from the salon and from meeting up with the others when Brendon pulled us over.

"How come were stopping here?" I ask confused.

"Wanna take a guess?" Brendon asked with a raise of an eyebrow. It was hard to read his eyes behind his sunglasses, but his tone and body language told me he knew. I can either play dumb or tell him what's up.

I decided to play dumb.

"Is there no parking ahead?" I questioned while cranning my neck to look ahead.

"No."

"Did we run out of gas?" I asked checking. "Wait do you feel sick? Is that it? I don't mind driving us the rest of the way, B."

"Eden." Brendon sighed bitting the inside of his check which only better defined his scapled face. Did I ever mention how unfair this man's facial features are?

"What?"

"You suck at coming up with something on the spot as much as you are at hidding how anxious you are."

"Well fuck you too." I mumbled under my breath earning a chuckle in return. "I'm fine, okay? And I would perfer if you keep driving so that our friends don't have to keep waiting on us."

"They can wait." Brendon reassured as he turns to better face me. "I thought we talked about this, Eden? You don't have to cut you're hair if you don't want to."

"I know." I groaned slightly annoyed.

"So I don't get why you're so anxious to be there? No one is forcing you to do anything."

"I know." I repeated louder while staring out at walking pedestrians.

"You just got to be there for your friends an-"

"I know! I know! I fucking know!" I bursed out glaring at Brendon who looked stunned at my reaction. "I know that's all I have to do, but that's not it."

Silence filled the car as Brendon took it all in. Even without seeing his eyes behind those sunglasses I know he was looking me over. Probably trying to figure out what's wrong with me and when he couldn't figure it out he simply frowned. And I have to admit. Seeing him look that way made me feel guilty.
