Diana sighed after a couple minutes. She gathered her thoughts together. Was she hopelessly in love? Probably. She kept her eyes on the waves as they crashed against each other. It shouldn't be that hard to live an uncomplicated life. People were always complicating things. She just wanted to run away from everything, from everyone.
But then a thought hit her as she slowly got up off the sand. She walked over to the shorelines, curling her toes in the wet sand. She closed her eyes and let the soft breeze take control of her sense. She just thought.
She remembered how when she needed an escape, Nick was the one who had helped her. He was her savior. She felt the tears wanting to fall back again.
He had saved her from falling into a pit of nothing but self pity.
Her life was falling apart, but he made the ache go away. All her thoughts after the night she had met him, had been focused on him. She was smiling a real smile because of him. Thinking about him made her forget all the other bad that was going on in her life.
She believed that was love.
Sighing softly, she opened her eyes and made her way back onto the boardwalk. She knew what she had to do. She always kept running back to him, but in the end, people just need to be not given up on. If you give up on something you want, won't you end up with nothing in the end? Because humans have the tendency of wanting everything in sight. Diana hurriedly got onto the other beach and spotted the lit gazebo. It was surrounded by candlelight. She made out a dark figure that was leaned against the side of it, on the platform. Walking up to it, she slowly walked over to him and leaned against the bars as well, staring into the ocean.
She glanced over at him and noticed how his gaze was focused on the dark ocean. Diana followed his gaze and realized that there was a ship there, almost invisible within the night. "Well, that's a rare sight," she spoke softly.
Nick didn't say anything. "Why are you here, Diana? You're just going to keep getting hur—"
"Stop," Diana said. She noticed from one of the candle's glow that he was crying. It ached to see him hurt like that. There were a lot of lost souls walking around on this earth, and seeing someone she loved turn into that was not very appealing. It was sad.
Seeing Nick like this shattered her world even more.
"I love you," Diana said, wrapping her arms around him as she stepped closer. She felt his body turn and arms wrap around her. He pulled her closer, hugging her tight. She felt secure. Just like the first time they had hugged."We'll be okay," she whispered, burying her head in his chest. He started to lean in, and so was she. It wasn't long till' there lips met, and the fireworks exploded inside their stomachs.
They would. It was the truth.
"I love you too, You are my bright eyed, beautiful girl, Diana."
Nick whispered between the kiss. Diana smiled.
She wasn't going to give up on him.
