The Train

James POV.

I hum silently to myself as I calmly *frantically* search for an empty compartment on the train so I can stretch my legs. The closest thing I find is a seat with some nerd already in his cloaks.

I slide the door shut and turn around, smiling when I open the door.

"You know what, Bella...-"

"It's Bellatrix damn you!"

"Bellatrix is wayyyyyyyyy to long!" A boy who looked about my age said as he got up. "I'm leaving!" I quickly turned around as if I had not just been listening to their conversation and whistled, convincingly.

"I don't fucking care what you do! Just don't come crying back like you always do, baby."

"I'm not the baby! The baby's name is R-E-G-U-L-U-S! Goodbye." I saw from the corner of my eye his salute before he left.

I accidentally *on purpose* ran into him. "Oh, sorry, I'm James."

He smiled smugly, a smile I quite enjoy. "And I'm Sirius."

So he was that kind of person, oh, the person who says their name as an action they're going to commit. I paused, was he going to say something about why he was serious?

"What?" I said quietly when he had turned away.

"What?" He repeated. "Let's go in here." He opened the door, revealing the nerdy kid who looked up from his book "Then we'll-" The boy's mouth dropped into an 'O' shape. "Your hair!" He yelled, running towards the nerds- was it blond or red?- hair. "It's so poofy and beautiful and...AHHHH!" He screamed. "I love it!"

The nerd, looking very concerned I must say, shifted away, but that didn't change the black haired boy from playing with his hair. I sat down and laughed. "What are you doing?"

The black haired boy turned back to me. "His hair is beautiful!" He explained.

"Um," The nerd said, almost like a whimpering kitty, begging for help. "What are your names?"

"James," I responded. The black haired boy responded at the same time so I couldn't hear his response.

"Really?" The nerd said to him. "How cool,"

I cleared my chest.

And the nerd went back to his book- the audacity!

"Ahem, what about me?"

The black haired boy scoffed as the nerd looked up from his book. "Oh please, like anyone could have a name like 'James' when they could have a name like mine!"

Burning to the touch were his words. "Ouch. What is your name then?"

Ignoring my question he went on: "I'm Sirius!"

After minutes passed I stared at him coldly. "You never answered my question," I noted.

"Yes, I did, three times now!"

"Woah Woah Woah count the three," I demanded.

The nerd rolled his eyes, but he put away his book, always a good sign.

"Uno, Dos, tres." He said quickly.

The nerd thought it was enough. "James, his name is Sirius, that's his name."

I gaped. "ohhhhhhhhhhh," I said, tilting my head back.

"What about you?" Sirius asked the nerd.

"Nerd." I answered for him.

He scowled at me. "Remus." He said coldly, putting down his book.

Remus POV

The nerve of these two boys. It didn't occur to me that all one might want to do is argue and shout about some idiotic thing like names.

I mean, they weren't terrible, they just needed a touch of common sense, a splash of decency, and a pinch of spacial awareness. I don't mind. They were pretty funny.

"Wow, Remus!" Sirius said, pretending to be scared- or amazed, I couldn't tell.

James laughed, and I shook my head disaprovingly but smiled.

No. I thought to myself. They could never like you Remus, you're a werewolf! Merlin knows what they'll do when they find out.

But for once, I silenced that voice with a strong thought: So what? I was going to enjoy my time here, well as much as I could.

Peter POV.

Finding friends can be hard.

I've noticed that in my seven minutes and twenty seconds on this train, and yes I've been counting. Oh well.

I see the plump little woman come around with the cart of treats and my mouth starts to water. Hoping she wouldn't miss me, I opened a door and sat there quickly.

Worst.

Mistake.

Ever.
