The bell had just rung signaling the end of classes for the day. Sisters Adele and Lana walked towards their lockers with their friends trailing behind them. Their friends were discussing who slept with whom at Mark’s party last Saturday. Frankly Adele and Lana didn’t really care for the pointless conversation that was taking place. They were eager to go home and rip off the itchy polyester uniform that hung unflattering on their bodies. Doing nothing to complement their curves, the navy skirt stopped a few inches from their ankles. This annoyed the girls when they walked, because the uncomfortable fabric scratches their long tone legs. They were required to wear white collared shirts, which made the sisters look bigger than they really are. Over top of their white collared shirts they must wear a navy blazer with their school logo on the right breast; the school believes that the student should take proud in attending one of the best schools in New York. Therefore, the higher ups see nothing wrong with making their students walk around like branded cows. And if you are seen wearing anything other than the black boats they call shoes, you will surly regret it once you are sentences to after school detention.
After making sure they collected their textbooks for their homework assignments. Lana and Adele made their way out of the dark brown wooden archway that leads them out of the strict stuffy air that wrapped them in a suffocating blanket, and into the loud obnoxious and the somewhat peaceful polluted air that surrounded the city. The girls waited with the rest of their school by the gates as the bored looking guards open the school gates. Permitting them the escape they so desperately wanted, the sisters wasn’t surprise when the gates were finally open to see a bunch of reporters screaming their names. Reporters were always this blood thirsty around elation season; they were in search of a juicy story that will excel their careers. Not caring if the news will affect the family involve, their only concern was getting a breaking story before anyone else.
Flashing lights blinded the sisters as persistent camera man try to get the perfect footage of Lana and Adele. Different reporters thrust microphones into their faces, frantically trying to get the girls to answer their questions. Even if the girls wanted to answer the reporter’s questions they couldn’t, due to the fact that about ten different reporters were spitting numerous questions at them. Which made the girls very confuse, they were only able to understand random words, never full questions. Although they should be used to the familiar feeling of being thoroughly confuse when it comes to the news reporters, they still after eight years still get discombobulated when flashing lights, thrusting microphones, and annoying reporter are staring them in the face. The sisters sighed in relief when their body guards finally came to their recuse, successful pushing people out of Lana and Adele pathway. The sisters were about an inch away from their black shiny town car, with tinted windows when a reporter finally made contact with the sisters.
“How do you feel about your dad knocking up his campaign manager? This eager reported asks as once again a microphone and camera was thrust in the sister’s face.
They couldn’t help but laugh at this absurd question; they were positive that their father will never cheat on his wife of twenty years. “Wow, we heard some insane stuff from you people before, but I must say that this is the craziest thing you guys came up with.” Adele said as uncontrollable laughter escape her red pouty lips.
“I have to agree with my little sister you guys, who else will want my father other than my mother?” Lana joked.
The report gave the girls a sad smile, “I’m sorry but this is not a rumor. Your father actually confirmed it this morning, and even if he didn’t there are videos, pictures, and plus your father infidelity can be simply proven with a D.N.A test. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your father, the Governor of New York City cheated on your mother. With his campaign manager… and she is now six weeks pregnant. How do you feel about this? She asked again, the sad smile slid off her face as she excitedly awaited our reactions. Waiting like a thirsty vampire for a drop of blood, she was practically bouncing on her six inch black pumps for a good reaction that her network can play a dozen times. The girls were ready to scream, to fight, and make everyone believe that this was not true. Just a stupid rumor that some bored fool created online, just anticipating for mindless idiots to believe his lies.
