A New Years Love

A young man stood outside of a small little house in the suburbs of NYC.

He wroe a simple black T-hire with some black Jeans, In his pocket was a phone that was going on and off constantly with text messages on a group chat called Champions.

He was breathing slowly, muttering to himself "come on Moralas, you've fought against Two Green goblins, faced down mysterio, faced off against taskmaster and stood up to the avengers! You can do this!"

He knocked against the wooden door in front of him slowly, his breathing becoming more ragged.

The door opened slowly and the man took a large breath and held it, a woman was at the other side of the door looked at him and said "can I help you?"

He looked up sand said "Mrs Khan, Is Kamala in" the woman looked at him accusingly. She said to him sternly "She is, why are you asking? How do you my daughter!"

The Young man gulped and said "I'm a friend of Kamala's, I was wanting to talk to her."

She nodded slowly and yelled up her stairs "Kamala! There's a boy down here who claims he knows you and wants to talk"

He nodded her thankfully and said "thank you Mrs Kahn" there was a large bang from upstairs and then sudden clash of feet as a young woman ran downstairs.

She stopped at the bottom of the stairs and stared at the Young man, she screamed and ran right at him, she screamed "Miles!"

She brought him into a large hug, not caring that she was still in her night gear and only had a dressing crown on above.

Miles got a small grin in his face after he got over the shock and wrapped his arms around her back.

The young woman was grinning like mad and said "what are you doing here miles, especially at... 9 am in the morning of new years eve?"

Miles let go and pulled out two sets of tickets from his pocket and showed them to her "I've got tickets for that play you wanted to see 'How to train Your Dragon' and I've got tickets to go to a concert for imagine dragons"

Kamala screamed in glee and said "how the hell did you afford tickets for either of these things, 1 ticket for the play alone is like $100 while the concert sold out months ago and a ticket was like $75"

Miles grinned and said "you mentioned in January that you really wanted to come and see this play so I contacted a friend who gave me some work and I've been saving up money and for the concert I know you like Image dragons so I purchased some last month."

She hugged him again and asked "so when is each event?" miles rubbed his neck and said" tonight for both of them, the play first from 5 to 8 and then the concert from 9 to 11."

Kamala turned to face her mum and put on her puppy face and begged "mum, can I please go with miles, I promise to be good?! "

Mrs Kahn smiled and said "fine, if this is the play that you've been bugging me about for the last year, then yeah you can go, I don't expect you to be back tonight or tomorrow morning."

Miles looked at kamala the entire time, a small blush on his face. He said to her "I will pick you up at 3 see ya then" he hugged her and left.

Mrs Kahn said to her daughter "I like him, I hope he will be my son-in-law someday." Kamala blushed and said "mum!"
