kimberleejanescott asked:  Could you please write me a David imagine?

Hey! Thanks for the prompt! Anna’s an amazing person and I love her to death. You two should chat, she’s really chill and sweet. :) So glad you like her imagines :D She specifically asked me to write about her chair, so it’s obviously the major plot of her story. For this, I’m not going to make the chair the center of the story. I hope that’s what you wanted, enjoy!

The One Where David’s Not Your Type

When you first saw him, you pretty much thought he was the biggest tool you’d ever seen—short hair combed up out of his face, running shorts and a grey plain wife beater. Attractive, no doubt, but exactly the kind of guy that probably went to the gym religiously just to talk to girls. You knew his type and you also knew his type disliked your type just as much. You were a little nerdy and you didn’t care about our looks nearly as much as the average cute little blonde girl that went to the gym to flirt with guys like him. Which was why you couldn’t understand why he kept staring at you. You were at the park babysitting your neighbor’s kids. They were starting to get a little too antsy at your house, so you walked them to the park at the end of the street where they found a few of their friends. It was lucky since it was a Saturday, so there were quite a few kids there which meant a lot of parents watching. You didn’t feel too uncomfortable not keeping your focus 100% on the kids like you would have if there were only a few kids. You glanced back to the bench where the gym jerk had been sitting with four other guys. A frown formed on your face when he was gone, though the other four hadn’t seemed to notice. You looked around to see where he could’ve gone, though you didn’t really know why you cared. It seemed like he appeared out of nowhere in front of you with a small smile and friendly expression. The surprise made you jump and then glare a little while he sat down on the bench next to where you were sitting in your chair.

"Can I help you?" You asked, not looking at him; instead focusing your attention on the kids.

"Well no, I just saw you staring-"

"I wasn’t staring," you said quickly, glancing at him with just your eyes and then looking back at the playground.

"Oh. I was," he said and you saw him duck his head with a little—almost nervous—smile. "I’m David." You didn’t respond, not really sure what this kid was trying to do. He was with his friends, so maybe this was some immature dare they thought would be funny. "What’s your name?" He pressed when the silence continued.

"Kim," you said simply, looking over at his friends again. "And I’d really like to know why five overgrown boys are hanging around a playground," you said, hoping a little attitude would get rid of him.

"Oh, yeah, that’s a little weird, isn’t it," David said, seemingly not realizing that you were trying to be a bitch, not trying to be funny. "We have to work on a new song, but Will’s cousins are in town, so we’re kind I multitasking…" He explained.

"New song?" You asked before your brain can stop you.

"Yeah!" David smiled, face lighting up. We’re in a band—IM5. We’re kind of a big deal," he said proudly, letting his arm drape over the backrest of your chair. You were too busy thinking to even brush his arm away. Maybe this wasn’texactly the type you thought he was… Still. You didn’t like this.

"IM5? Never heard of you guys," you said, folding your arms over your chest. David moved skittle closer, turning his body a bit so he could face you slightly.

"You should definitely get to know me then," he said with a little blush and a shrug. "Like at dinner tonight," he suggested and now you knew this was flirting.

"Listen, you’re not my type," you said flat out, but David’s smile didn’t seem to faulter.

"Your type isn’t the music type?"

"Well no, but—"

"You know, I dance too."

"That’s great but-"

"Your type isn’t a guy that’s good with kids?"

"I didn’t say th-"

"Or a guy who’s not afraid to talk to a girl he thinks is is pretty?"

"No, I’m not-"

"Have dinner with me."

"Okay!" You said finally out of frustration. You blinked after realizing what you’d just agreed to and looked down at your hand. He was holding it,  just finishing up writing his number in pen on the palm.

"I’ll pick you up at eight," he smiled and to be honest, it was one of the cutest smiles you’ve ever seen. He was pretty adorable in general actually. He stood up hesitantly, like he was debating whether to do something. After a moment, he got up and turned around, then changed his mind again and turned to face you. He leaned down to quickly kiss your cheek before straightening again, scratch the back of his neck. "Yeah, I’ll—I’ll see you later."

P.S. I just assumed your name was Kim from your user name, sorry if it’s not ><

(I did this on my ipod and I’m too lazy to look it over, so there’s probably lots of mistakes)
