A pale purple flouncy shirt was on the bed with straight leg dark jeans. “You have to wear this tomorrow!” Jenna screamed.

"Really? Do think it'd look okay on me?"

She laughed, “We wouldn't have got it if it didn't look great on you."  She pushed off the bed and skipped to the giant closet. She slid away the mirrored doors. She bent down and dug through the big bin of shoes. She pulled out a pair of spiked heels and then a pair of white sandals. “No. No. No,” she said as she pulled out shoes after shoe.

“Uh, Jenna what are you doing?”

“Aha!” She pulled out a pair of gold wedges. “Wear these with them.” I just stared at her. “What?!”

“Those are like ten inches tall!”

“They’re only 4 and a half!” I was still staring at her. “Just shut up and put them on!” She smiled. I got up and did a little fashion show for her. “Love it! Well I’m just saying if we go anywhere and you look like that, you will have no problem with the boys!” I laughed.

(You guys have no idea...)

“Wake up sleepy!” I looked up to see Jenna jumping on my bed. “Time for school!” She was smiling and excited and I was definitely not a morning person.

I rolled over on my stomach and hid my face in the pillow. “Why are you so excited? It’s not your first day at a new school halfway across the country where you know no one besides your long lost cousin.”

She yanked the pillow out from under my head. “Because! I have a surprise for you!” She started beating me with the pillow. “But you have to get up!”

“Alright! I’m up!” I rolled tossing her off the bed.

She sat up huffing. “Well! That was not very nice.”

“Well. I’m sorry. So what was your “big” news?" I put air quotes around big news.

“So the modeling company I work for got us tickets to go to the Taste of Chicago!” I just blinked. “Hello! Did you not hear me? The Taste of Chicago! It’s this big place where you just eat and listen to live performances all day! And guess who’s coming this year?” I remained silent. “One Direction! Ahhhh!” she screamed.

“Cool.” I got off the bed and walked to the bathroom. She followed me into the bathroom before I could shut the door. Now she was staring. “What?”

“I tell you that I just got tickets to the most amazing event of the year and to see the most amazing boy band in the world and all you can say is cool?!” I shrugged. “Oh my God. Wait. You do know who they are, don’t you?” I smiled and continued brushing my hair. “Hello!” She pointed to the picture on her phone.

“Oh, the boys on your wall.” I said matter-of-factly.

“Yes, they are amazing! And it’s the perfect thing to get your mind off things. But OMG I love their song Moments and their eyes! Oh my God, their eyes! They’re just beautiful. They are the most down to earth boys ever and they’re voices! Oh my God my favorite is…” I had started to tune her out while I was putting on my contacts. It had been three weeks since the accident but I still felt out of sorts. I was better. Still a little depressed but maybe not as dead. I was doing pretty well besides that little incident on the plane. I just missed my family. Don’t get me wrong Jenna is amazing and she is the most accepting person I could ask for. I mean she took me shopping and is sharing her room with me. But it wasn’t the same you know?
