Chapter 4

Gumballs POV:

I silently pace back and forth behind the palace doors. Where is Marshall? I have made a lovely breakfast for the two of us. It will be cold by the time he finally arrives.

" prince gumball, your meal is getting cold." Peppermint maid reminds me. "Thanks, I'm just waiting for Marshall. Can you put it in the microwave or something?" I reply. " well I guess.." Peppermint maid mumbles as she walks to the kitchen.

Maybe he forgot. Or maybe he doesn't want to come. Gumball, your being so irrational. He's coming. He said he was coming, and a nice boy like marshall would keep his word.

I start pacing faster. But maybe he couldn't bear the awkward conversation, so he hung up. Yes! That's it! He thinks I'm awkward. Or he hung up before he could get into details any further, so he wouldn't have had as much of a problem not coming. I'm such an idiot! I always end up embarrassing myself!

But before I could think about any other ways he wouldn't be coming, there was a loud knock at the door.

Marshall's POV:

I knock on the big chocolate doors to gumballs palace. I sigh. What am I doing here? I need company though. But I don't like being social.

After a few seconds gumball opens the door. " Hey Marshall!" Gumball enthusiastically says. "Hey.." I say as look down at my feet.

"Come inside!" I walk into the palace. I look around and immediately see he has an extremely nice living environment. I'm a kindpg, and I just get a house. Maybe I should move back to the nightosphere, where I can get away from flame prince." I've made a nice breakfast. I follow him into the dining room, where I see a large table, with two of the seats intended top for gumball and I to eat.

The meal appears to be some kind of bread with strawberries and bananas.mine with extra straw berries. "French toast. I put extra strawberries on your, you know, because they're red." He grins and looks at me, but sees I'm not smiling at sits down.

"Nice place." I mumble, but loud enough for him to hear. "Thank you!" Gumball replies.
