Equestria - Cave of Harmony - Past time

Equus...a planet not like your own. Full of new teaming life, some of which we'll never see while others will always be around us if only we look. You will not know what lays upon the seemingly new born world's vast surface. Only your imagination can run wild alongside the creatures and sapient species that dwell here. Creatures and species of endless beauty, limitless grace and never ending wisdom to those of their kin or those who seek help with friendly intentions. Yet there are also creatures and species that are capable of great evil, unrivaled rage and a horrifying amount a destruction to those they do not know, where their paths cross and even their own kin even if the gain is quite generous in their eyes but to all others...it's only a means to an end or eventually their end.

I continued my path by walking to the side of a large mountainous formation, there I came upon a cave's opening. Trekking the rocky and naturally roughly made path that lead to the caves mouth. I could see a faint light looking as if a rainbow was living in the very rock before me. It was as if a veil or literal wall of nature's colors was shielding the open mountain wall.

I felt extremely apprehensive to try and approach the wall infused with rainbow colored light, as it could be a colorful camouflage to attract those who are not so wry. But as I came closer to its shimmering and shining surface, it gave off the feeling of warmth, comfort and a welcoming hearth.
Promising protection to all who entered as well as safety from the horrid world that I know is behind me. Not knowing weather to cross this... barrier of light or turn around and try to find another place, if at most a temporary residence in order to keep my little ones safe.
Safe from the coming future that is prophesied by the great creator. He who gave me and ....my husbands forms.

As I looked back at the already dark grey clouds that seemed to be black, seemingly beginning to darken even more of the sky despite being a little past midday. It seemed the night sky was already here and was turning pitch black. I
f only discord had not come Cosmos would still be here and we, would not be retreating to this distance and this degree. Yet as I made my decision to enter the wall or color it made me feel somewhat pensive as to what I'd find inside. It would hurt me more than any other to know I was the cause my two unborn foals were harmed, let alone...something worse.

Crossing the threshold that I called the caves mouth, I realized that this was not a simple caverion. No it was a vast open area made of slightly light blue and dark water colored crystals, that shined and shook in their own majesty of a light from basically nowhere made this place one to remember. Not being able to help myself I walked somewhat slowly yet it was a modest pace that would be a bit hard pressed to keep pace with. With my mindless and amazed wondering I did not notice the sounds of a desperate cry.

When it finally registered in my mind that I was still following the wall of crystal, instead of following the sounds of crying. Once it did, it was only natural that I'd seek who or whatever it was that was crying. Being a soon to be mother, especially from what I can discern due to the resounding whimpers, the poor thing must only be a child of some kinds offspring.
Regardless of its make or origin I'am a benevolent ruler, it's also my job as a mare to at least help where I can. Poor thing, for all I know it could have been here for weeks and is starving or was simply abandoned here.
