"I love you"- Eddy

A/N: I had a different idea, but decided to do this instead! It's the moment that Grady met Edaline's parents.

An Eddy story was requested.

"It's finally nice to meet you," Edaline's mother shook Grady's hand. "We've heard so much about you."

Grady shook her hand in return, smiling widely. He'd been waiting a long time to meet Edaline's parents and was glad she had finally allowed him to. 

It wasn't that Edaline didn't love Grady. Well, she hadn't told him that she loved him yet, but he knew she did. Her affection, the way her eyes sparkle when she sees him... it was obvious to him that she was in love.

Or maybe he was the one in love.

Or just conceited.

"Yes, we have heard everything," Edaline's father added. He laughed a little. "You didn't use her ability on our daughter, did you?"

Grady knew it was a joke, but it still hit a spot in his heart. His whole life since he manifested had been spent hearing things like that. 

"Of course he didn't!" Edaline immediately said. "He would never do that."

Grady smiled. He always loved how Edaline stood up for him. It's one of the reasons he loves her so much. He took her hand in his. "Thanks, Eda," he whispered in her ear softly.

Edaline's cheeks turned pink. "Well, uh... Mother? Can we maybe have something to eat? Please? You always make the best food!"

Grady perked up. He did enjoy a good meal. He was about to agree with her when he felt something soft rub against his legs. He looked down, jumping back in surprise.

Looking up at him was a gremlin- a scruffy-looking one. 

"Koli!" Edaline laughed. "You scared him! Go on now. Don't even think of stealing anything!"

Grady quickly patted his pockets but was too late- the gremlin had already taken his Imparter and was dismantling it. 

"You're the only girl I know that would have a gremlin as their pet!" Grady laughed, shaking his head. "Now I need a new Imparter."

Edaline's mother smiled. "Well, I guess I should start cooking. The gnomes just brought in some fresh veggies." She hurried off, with her husband following and Koli running after them.

Grady turned to Edaline, glad that they were alone. "Your parents seem nice. And I'm glad they accept me as your boyfriend," He said, holding both of her hands and kissing them. "You don't have any idea how nervous I was to meet them."

"I know," she said. "I'm sure I'll be just as nervous when I meet your parents. But for now... it's nice that my family knows you."

Grady nodded in agreement.

"And I know they tease you a lot," Edaline continued. "But I want you to know... I love you. And I don't care what everyone else thinks."

Grady's face heated up at her words. That's the first time she has said 'I love you'.  "I love you too, Eda. And I know nothing will stop us."
