Second Chance (Older Brother!Ronald Knox, Reader Insert)

Chapter 5

Normal POV

"Look, (y/n), if I really was your brother, I'd like to try being your brother too now after I've become a shinigami. Please let me try, I won't let you down."

I stay silent after he said that. I don't know why but it still surprising that it came out from his mouth. I am now 80% sure that the Ronald Knox in front of me is really was my brother. But somehow, his attitude is way too different from when he lived in the mortal world....

"Okay, Nii-chan...." I mumble. I think I've also heard him saying words almost similar to that when he was still a human being...

"You don't have to worry about me, Nii-chan," I mumble sadly. "Your girlfriend is more important. Go chase her, I'll be fine..."

He looks at me with worried look, then he turns his head around to see his girlfriend walking away. The fight between them before didn't seem to bother him.

"Oi, (y/n), what are you saying?" he says while smiling sadly. "I don't care about her. She's annoying now, so I decided to break up with her."

"Yeah, right. You love her, right?  So why did you guys break up?"

"Because," he says. "I know she beated you a lot. I know she did it because she was jealous with you. She was jealous that I spent more time with you than with her."

"I'm fine!" I scream at him. "I don't care even if she kills me. As long as you're happy, I'm fine with whatever my life gives me."

"Well, I'm not happy with her abusing you and stuffs. You should've told me, (y/n). She's nobody for me, but you're my sister. You are somebody for me."

"Liar..." I mumble. "I'm not your sister! We're not blood related! We don't even have the same ancestor! You're British and I'm half-Japanese! We were enemies in the past! Afterall, I'm adopted and I will never be a somebody!"

There's a silence between us. I start to cry after those words left my mouth. I regret saying those things. I open my mouth to talk again, but suddenly Nii-chan hugs me.

"I don't even care if we're not from the same bloodline," he says. "You are my sister, and I love you. I'd like to try being your brother. Please let me try, I won't let you down!"

Now I'm too shocked to speak. I open my mouth to say something, but my voice seems to be taken away from shockness. (A/N: Is it even a word? :P Please tell me a better word, I'm not too good in advanced English)

"Okay, Ronald-niichan,"  I say. "I'll let you try. I'm sorry for everything I said."

"Oi, (y/n), are you there?"

I snapped out from my flashbacks and reality brings me down to Earth.

"Y-yes?" I ask him.

"You've told me about the Ronald Knox you know," he says. "Now, can I tell you about the Ronald Knox I know?"

"Eh!?"

I stare at him with wide eyes. What does he mean, the Ronald Knox he knows? Does it mean he's not my brother?

"Don't worry, now I am sure that we were related," he says, calming my nerves. "I just want to tell you what happened before and after I joined the Shinigami Dispatch Society."

"Is that so?" I say while smiling in relief. "Okay then, go ahead."

Wow, that was one hell of a long flashback :P I'm starting to think that this is more like OC involving fanfic than Reader insert, I'm not good at making Reader inserts :'b

Sorry if it's kinda boring, I have no other idea for this chapter. I also apologize for the long update. Writer's blocks, school, extra classes, homeworks....they just hate me.

And also, I've watched Book of Circus episode 6 and 7. Oh my God, I didn't expect Sebastian and Beast to....meh, for you guys who have watched, you know what I mean :I

I've also read the chapter in the manga before. Toboso-sensei did make their scene,  BUT IT WASN'T AS DETAIL AS IN THE 6TH EPISODE, I SWEAR TO GOD D'X

Now I'll just wait for the epic finale of the season (no spoiler haha) and we'll move to Campania arc and Weston arc! XD Can't wait for Ronald in the battle on Campania and Soma in Weston uniform XD
