What the hijab mean to me??? Where do I even start?.
My hijab is my suit of armour and it's my identification. It protects me and gives me strength. Its a constant reminder of my duty towards Allah SWT. In the society we live in people may think that my hijab oppress me if only they knew that in fact my hijab empowers me.The hijab is my crown and my abaya is my gown. I'm a walking queen who no one gets to see unless I give them permission to. The greatest feeling about wearing the hijab apart from pleasing your lord, when I wear it I feel protected I have the power to let people see only what I want them to see.
I can't even remember when I started to wear a hijab, it was some time in primary school but honestly its the best thing ever, I literally love my hijab. When I was younger I clearly knew nothing about it, I probably started to actually learn more about the hijab when I was in year 7, I guess as I got older I started to understand it better. I understood what it represented etc. See, the Hijab isn’t just a piece of cloth. It is so much more than that. People look at you and have expectations, they just assume because you wear a hijab your perfect but naa i have many faults. People think that just beacause you wear a hijab your granted a golden ticket straight into jannah nope it don't work like that. It's all about the intention in your heart.
My muslim sisters please remeber that you don't need to be told we are beautiful by society, our lord has told us we are beautiful & we are all queens, remember that. We live in a world where some women are being paid to get naked whilst others get fined for being covered. Sisters who wear the Hijab/Niqab stay strong in this dunya.May Allah bless and reward you all immensely.
