Sixteen year old (Name) lay on her bed, hands on her stomach as she stared at the grey ceiling of her room. The Akatsuki base was quiet - too quiet, to be exact. She glanced at the clock that hung on the cream colored walls. Seven-thirty pm. She frowned at the quietness she had been experiencing throughout the whole day until now.
Hidan and Kakuzu had just left for a mission the night before (which explained why there wasn't any much swearing heard), Konan had gone out early in the morning without a single word of where she was going, Pein, well he was Pein. He never said anything much and would rarely give direct or full answers. He had left a while ago, saying he had some matters to attend to, that were apparently confidential. As for Zetsu, he had left in morning as well, probably to go spying or something.
That leaves - Itachi, Kisame, Sasori and Deidara. Deidara ... She sighed. The thought of him brought butterflies to her stomach. But, of course, she could never tell him that! What if he didn't feel the same way? But sometimes ... sometimes, he does things that make her think he likes her ... but alas, one can never be too sure.
She shook her head, trying to rid the thought. She was bored and staying in her room all day wasn't going to help. She got up on her feet and walked out of her room, closing the door behind her before walking down the hallway into the living room.
She raised an eyebrow as her eyes landed on a rather peculiar scene in front of her. Three of the members - Itachi, Kisame and Deidara, sat separately on each of the three couches placed in the living room. Kisame sat on the single couch right at one end of the rectangular teak table, resting his hand on his sword as he gazed into nothingness, Itachi sat on the right of the table on couch meant for two, reading a book, Deidara sat across him, on the couch for three, playing with his clay absentmindedly, his eyes filled with thoughts. It was strange. Deidara would usually pick up a fight as soon as Itachi appeared in front of him, but for these past few days, Deidara seemed to occupied with his own thoughts to even bother with the Uchiha. (Name) wanted to ask what was going on with him, but couldn't bring herself to.
He looked up and smirked as soon as he saw (Name).
'(Name), finally decided to come out of your cave?' he said, his smirk never leaving his face.
She shrugged and gave a small smile, making her way towards them as she sat on the same couch as Deidara but at the other end of the couch, where she was closer to Kisame.
'I was bored,' she said, plopping her elbow on the arm-rest as she rested her chin on her palm. 'Where's Sasori-san?'
'In his room,' Deidara said, peering at her through his curtain of hair. 'Working on his puppets, un.'
[Name] nodded, sighing once more. 'It's so quiet and boring ...' she mumbled, before her eyes slowly widened, trailing over to Kisame.
'What?' said Kisame, looking amused at the grinning girl. 'What are you suddenly so excited about?'
'Kisame-san, tell me a ghost story.' she requested, her eyes shining with eagerness. 'Please?'
'Ghost story?' Kisame repeated, a grin forming on his face. 'Are you sure?'
[Name] nodded vigorously, sitting at the edge of the couch. 'I am,'
'Move anymore [Name], and you're going to fall off the couch, un.' Deidara said looking tearing his eyes away completely from his clay and to her, smirking.
She stuck her tongue out at him playfully, earning a chuckle from him as she turned to Kisame, her heart fluttering from the chuckle of the youngest man in the living room.
