AFTER the snake soup disaster at the previous dinner, all the residents from the outpost 3 were gathered in the library. shortly after ms. venable's arrival you heard footsteps from the hallway, coming closer as a powerful presence entered the room where you and the other survivors were patiently waiting. everyone was quiet and you felt nervous, a common feeling of yours. you looked down at your hands who were folded onto your lap, and you began playing with your fingers.
the presence was coming closer and closer, as were the footsteps. suddenly it was completely quiet, even more quiet than before, if it were even possible. you lifted your head and saw an unfamiliar man standing in the doorway, dressed in all black clothing with beautiful, blonde, silky looking hair flowing onto his broad shoulders. your eyes were glued to the extraordinarily beautiful looking man, you couldn't look away from him. with his hands folded behind his back and his shoes clicking onto the floor he walked towards ms venable, his eyes not leaving the woman for one millisecond. once he stood beside her in the middle of the room, ms venable turned her head to face him. she smiled at him, which you found strange. it didn't last long, when the man didn't return the favor and instead glared at the woman, she looked down and stepped out of the way, like she knew who the man was and knew that she needed to back off because he was more powerful than her. the man took her place and didn't waste a second as he immediately said: "my name is langdon and i represent the cooperative." the sound of his smooth, silky voice sounded like music to your ears. you stared dreamily at langdon and saw his mouth moving, but you were too far into your trance to actually hear what he was saying.
your trance didn't last long, as you were snapped out of it when timothy, a fellow survivor that you befriended, asked what happened to the people inside. slightly cursing at yourself into your head for not listening to what was being said into the candle lit library, you sighed as you tried to concentrate on the conversation. not expecting the answer that langdon gave your friend, the answer being "massacred" you were sucked into the memory of the day when the apocalypse happened, where one second you were just working at your boring underpaid job, and the next you were being dragged into a black suv by people you didn't know because you had 'special dna' and because of that was chosen to survive.
this memory also didn't last long, you once again snapped out of it when you felt movement beside you. mr gallant was raising his hand and said "i volunteer to go first". once more, you didn't know what this was about, but your curiosity as well as your anxiety grew when langdon smirked and moved his eyes to yours as he spoke "i suggest y/n will go first". well, fuck.
A/N I love cody fern, bye.
