Poseidon wasn't expecting to see Sally again, but there she was the next morning, storming toward him. He took in how beautiful she was for the millionth time that summer. In his ages old life, he'd never had a better summer. But then he noticed the anger in her eyes, the way her demeanor screamed Danger!

"Sally what's-"

"I'm pregnant," she said.

"Excuse me, what?!"

"Yeah thanks for that. Stalk me, get me pregnant, and then leave!" She was crying by that point. "This is just great!"

The full meaning of what she'd just said started to sink in and he got a horrible feeling. In the ancient days, he'd have demigod children all the time. But now with the oath...let's just say Zeus would not be happy with him. And the prophecy...

"And I don't know what to do," Sally was saying, "should I keep the baby? Will I be able to care for the two of us? And you don't even care!"

She was yelling, very upset. People were starting to stare. "We have to kill it."

"We...what?" Sally asked in disbelief. She looked horrified.

"Abort it. Kill it. I don't care. We can't let it live," he tried to reason, more to himself than to her. She backed away from him. "No, I will not."

"Sally you don't understand. There's a prophecy about a child of the Big Three. We made an oath. This child, Sally, would have a horrible fate."

She looked him right in the eyes. "Poseidon, this summer has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. But it's over now. You have blessed me with a child and I won't do any such thing. I will love and raise this child to the best of my ability. You can't stop me."

He looked down then away. "I know, but at least promise me something. When the child comes of age, you will send the child to Camp Half-Blood." She nodded with tears in her eyes. "Goodbye Poseidon."

He'd been dreading the moment he'd have to let her go. It came too soon. "I love you Sally Jackson."

Sally leaning in to give him one more lingering kiss. "There was a time..." she said, trailing off. She shook her head. "But no. Not anymore." He nodded farewell and dissolved into sea mist, leaving her alone in the early morning air.
