After stuffing my face with pancakes, sausage, and biscuits I decided I wanted to explore our backyard. That beautiful pool with glistening water calling out my name. Birdy was out pecking at the bushes. "Birdy, did ya find anything interesting?" I said, oozing with love. I walked up to her and notice a crumpled up sticky note. I picked it up and smoothed it out. I know what you did...your secret will be revealed very very soon. "Hm, must be some annoying kids playing a prank." I said, and tossed the note over the fence. Pepper came running out of the house, screaming my name. I whirled around so fast, thinking it was an emergency. "What?!" I shouted. She panted, hands on her knees. "K..Kali....I...found a...secret door..in my room! It's locked...we gotta find a key to it..." "Like that's gonna happen, this house is huge." I rolled my eyes. "Kali..I heard people talking behind..behind that door last night." Pepper said, wide eyed. I thought back to what Ryan said, how he was told there was something odd about this place. "Let's find that key." I said. We took off, with Birdy trailing behind.
We searched for hours and still, no key. "Let's face it Pepper, we are defeated." I said as I slumped down onto the couch. "Hmmm... I have an idea. What if you hoisted me up so I can check to see if it is on top of my room door?" "Ugh, fine. But only because I am curious." "I'm only 65 pounds!" Pepper crawled her way up my shoulders and felt along the border of the door. "Bingo." she says, flashing a shiny metal key in her hand. We went into her room and shimmied the key into the lock. We heard a click. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it open...
