Run. That's all that went through my mind as they chased me. Branches and leaves whipped my face and body as I ran. I had the urge to spread my wings, but I needed to keep running and lose them. It was too risky to try to fly because of the canopy overhead. The Wizards chased me through the trees. I saw a nearby stream, so I tore a piece of my bloody clothing off and threw it into it. I climbed up a nearby tree and watched the Tracking dogs run down the side of the stream with the group of Wizards following behind.
That's what I get for trying to tell the truth, I thought. I thought that I had a friend, I knew had for quite a while, but fate just had to fudge it up.
A couple minutes after the Wizards passed, I took off my black hoodie. I needed to stretch my wings or I would be cramped up for the rest of the day.
My black wings unfolded behind me as I started to climb up higher into the tree. I could see the blue tint on the end of my wings at the edge of my vision. Once I was sure that they were gone, I flew up into the clouds where they couldn't see me.

Well if your wondering who I am, well my name is Lance. I'm a Dragon Kin. I'm from Latsook, but my village burned down during the War. Your probably wondering 'what War?' Well, there was this Great War that lasted for years. It was the Great War of Wings. The Valkyries had waged War upon the Dragon Kin.

I started to fly towards the trees below while staying near the thickest part of the canopy. I landed an hour away from the caves that I live in. I started to walk towards them as I contemplated what to do next.
The entrance of the cave is surrounded by thick trees and the canopy overhead hides it completely from view. It is in the side of the mountain range that protects the Wizard village Tadina.
As I came up to the entrance to the cave system, I could hear some talking coming form the cave. I knew that Fali, my only friend that survived the Great War, was there but I couldn't identify the other voice. I slowly crept up into the cave and as soon as I saw the unknown person's outline, I tackled them to the ground.
