So...1000 years have passed outside? I mean it doesn't really bother me, I have no ties to this world. Faye is flying in circles, panicking.
"Er...is that a bad thing?" I ask.
"Is that... of course it's bad!! What do you think happened to the balance of this world? You were a Demon King...you directly affect the fate of the world! I can't even imagine what would have happened without a Demon King. What about the Human Heroes? They're supposed to oppose you, and balance it out! If you change the balance of the world, you could change everything! And I was in charge of the person responsible for all this! What am I gonna do? The Spirit Queen is going to kill me."
"Technically...it wasn't my fault. Besides, I'll just go out now. How bad could it be?"
"How bad could it - What if there is no world outside!?"
"Relax. Which races could I choose again?"
She gives me an annoyed look. "I'm going back. Go outside now. I don't care which exit you take. In fact go into this one." She huffed and disappeared.
Well...definitely not this exit. No way am I going to let my next life be undeath. I double back and try to find another exit, collecting as much stuff as I can. Faye's right about one thing. I've been limiting myself to this one stupid cave, trying to take everything there is from it. I've been near-sighted, focusing on the minor things, while missing out on a whole world out there. Oh well, the second best time to plant the tree is right now, so here I go.
It takes me a while to find the other cave exists, but as far as I can tell, walking through one of them will change my appearance. Apart from the undead exit, there was one that gave me feathers, one where my arms grew luxurious fur. In the end i chose the one where my arms stayed relatively the same. I continued through the cavernous path as it angled upwards.
Exiting Cave of Origin. Race will be set to Lizardman.
Hmm...i guess it makes sense with my scales. The path opened up into yet another cave, but this was bigger, and brighter than the cave of origin. When I finally stepped through the exit, it suddenly felt like the weight of the worlds landed on my shoulders. I fell to my knees, panting. It felt like all the energy had been sucked out of me.
"Faye..." I called out weakly.
She flew out in front of me. Surprisingly, her face showed only concern. "Don't worry. Time is catching up to you. Sleep."
She placed her hand on my forehead and my mind went dark.
When I woke up, I felt much better. Insanely better, like I could do anything. I pulled up my stats.
Strength: 80
Dexterity: 90
Intelligence: 90
Wisdom: 80
Charisma: 75
Magica: 40
Soul: 10
Vitality: 75
What. How? There was a small message underneath as well.
'Some stats are maximized for the current race.'
Well well well. I feel like I can do anything.
"Impressive." Faye said, hovering next to me.
"Thanks, it feels amazing."
"Of course it only took you 1000 years to reach this!! Stop wasting time and go find out what happened in the world!"
