A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE

"Hello, I'm Yoongi" the short male introduced himself shortly- a lot shorter than the teacher had expected and she looked over to the tiny male to see if he maybe was just taking a short pause before continuing... but alas he was done.

"Ah- any questions for Yoongi?" The teacher asked her class, putting heavy emphasis on the male's first name- since he had forgotten to say his surname.

A large hand with long fingers soon shot up through the crowd of students- much to Yoongi's displeasure... he had hoped they'd just let him slide off to some seat in the back so that he wouldn't have to be bothered interacting with anyone.

"Yes Kim?" The teacher smiled warmly at the rather tall person, whom she proudly recognised.

"Is your last name Min?" The guy said, in a surprisingly dark voice and Yoongi's head snapped up from which he had previously hung to face the floor.

Instead of answering the kid's question, the tiny male squinted his eyes suspiciously at the rather attention-grabbing human. "Who are you?" Yoongi asked with a touch of venom to his tone, just to make sure anyone interested backed off.

"My name's Kim Taehyung, I'm from Daegu" the guy said with a slight smirk playing on his box-like lips.

...Yoongi knew this person, he even used to like this person- who was now cockily leaning back in his chair with his arms folded over his chest. Instead of recognizing the fact that they used to know each other, Yoongi bit his lip to keep in any foul words escaping his mouth.

He decided to ignore any other hands that had slowly risen from the crowd and took fast phasing steps to a window seat, the furthest away he could get from Taetae.

Later in the day, when lunch-break had arrived- Yoongi basically plastered himself to the walls, sneaking around corners and carefully listening to any recognisable voices... everything to avoid meeting anyone he might've known before.

He wanted to skip lunch, because he knew that he'd absolutely come upon Taehyung in the cafeteria, no matter how hard he tried to stay away from him.

—"I don't mean to interrupt whatever you might be doing, but you are in front of my locker" a melodic voice sounded from behind the tiny male's back. Yoongi felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned around to meet a tall boy, probably younger than himself.

"Oh, you're new?" The boy asked in surprise once he had seen the shorter's new face. Said person nodded and the boy smiled brightly, his face closely resembling a bunny in the other's opinion.

"I'm Jeon Jungkook, nice to meet you" the boy said with a cheerful tone to which the shorter couldn't help but smile back, his cute smile was contagious, okay...

"I'm Yoongi, Min Yoongi" the tiny male spoke quietly, not letting his voice come out too strong.

"Yoongi huh- Have you eaten lunch yet?" Jungkook asked while tilting his head, almost like a puppy. Yoongi shook his head slowly which made the taller smile happily.

"Great! Then we can eat together" Jungkook cheered while dragging the shorter by his arm, towards the cafeteria... Yoongi tried to get out of the other's grip, but it was to no use whatsoever, he was too strong.

"I usually sit with Hoseok and Jimin, but I bet you don't wanna meet too many new faces on your first day, right?" Jungkook asked while he leads him with a firm grip to the food queue and the petit male nodded quickly. The taller chuckled at the new student's response and ruffled the short boy's fluffy hair.

"Then I'll ditch them for today and sit with you instead" Jungkook continued with, which made Yoongi surprised. "Y-you don't have to, I can-" but before he could finish Jungkook had already cut him off with a finger to his lips. "I wouldn't abandon a newbie" The taller mused with a glint in his eyes and Yoongi nodded slightly, a warmth washing over him in a sort of comforting feeling.
