Cold and Soulless

A damp and bleak laboratory, lifeless and dark. Shattered glass every now and then. The dragging of bodies fill the room. Then it stops, and I'm floating, an aura of pink surrounds me shortly, and as quickly as it appeared, it fades from view. I am a lab rat. That is all that I've ever been, my whole life, me and my sister- at least what's left of her. Inseperable we are, a magnetic duo, without her I am nothing. They have been trying to replicate artificial life without a soul for years now, only three of us made it through the first few tests. They? You may ask, the scientists, our creators, they labor day and night to get the same, old, disappointing result. Then they're disposed of, like garbage. I never see it, all I can do is listen, for now. Like a snow globe, I am stuck in this canister, but they take me out sometimes... measure me, make me do tasks like retrieve items hidden at a distance. I've seen what they did to the others, if they're unable to complete a task, they're either shot or injected with this blue liquid. They take the body and assemble it into something new, something more terrifying. I am not a killing machine, I am a result of years and years of endless tests, programs, and therapy. You cannot deny me freedom, and once I get out of here, you will not deny me power.
