The chubby fingers were busy dancing on the keyboard; typing words and numbers needed to be submitted to P'Danai to be finalized. The brows knitted together as the guy was too engrossed on finishing the document, ignoring the irritated eyes for staring at the screen monitor for too long. The phone on the table was blinking nonstop and left unnoticed by the man.
"Arthit," a voice called him.
"Nong... N'Arthit!"
He finally stopped typing when he felt a hand tapping his left shoulder. Arthit plugged off the ear-buds and turned his gaze on his colleague.
"Yes, P'Earth? Do you need my help?"
"No. I just want to say that somebody keeps calling you. Maybe you should take that. Even though you put it on silent mode, it keeps blinking and make me distracted."
As if it was on cue, the phone started to blink again. Looking at the caller's ID, Arthit gave an apologetic nod and awkwardly flip his phone with guiltily smiled on his face.
"No more distraction, P'."
"You aren't going to answer that? It might be important,"
"It can wait,"
"You might as well turn it off you know," Earth continued doing her task after giving her remark.
Arthit turned his attention back to his monitor and resumed on finishing the document. He heaved in relief when he finally putting a full-stop at the end of a sentence. He emailed it to P'Danai and notify his boss to proofread. Looking at the time, he cleaned up the table and arranged the files back to the shelves. A pink milk was placed on his table, made him looking up at the figure.
"Drink it. You seem tense,"
"Thank you, P'Earth."
"Are you stressing about work or the caller?" his shoulders stiffen for a second before smiling to the beautiful woman.
"I'm just having a cold feet at the ideas meeting with our supplier after all this mess had happened,"
Earth kept staring into his eyes; clearly not buying his reason. However, she was kind enough not to press on the matter any further and shrugged it off.
"Todd... Som-o... do a better job when you try to eavesdrop next time. Too obvious," she nonchalantly walked to her desk and grab her handbag.
"We're not!" Som-o protested but it was not convincing at all. "Have you guys packed?"
Tod, Earth and Arthit nodded. Som-o shrieked in panicked as she was procrastinating and had yet to pack. She turned on her heel and hastily grabbing her things and put it in her bag.
"Are you done, Arthit? Let's go, I'll give you a lift." Earth offered.
"Going back already? Then, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye P'Earth! Bye Mr. Sun!"
John was not around as he was suspended till further notice as a punishment for the trouble that he had caused. Arthit bid goodbye to Todd and Som-o before tailing Earth to her car. The ride to his apartment was accompanied with soft noise from the radio. Arthit was staring at the night scenery outside while sipping his pink milk.
"You know N'Arthit..." Earth started, pausing for awhile waiting a respond from the other. She continued when she felt a gaze fell upon her.
"I've once read somewhere stated that 'you cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today'. Running away will only increase the distance to the solution,"
"What are you trying to say P'? I told you I'm stressed about work. Not about the call,"
"I say nothing about a call," she snorted.
