Stiles
Artemis and I burst into the classroom. Everyone turns to look at us and Ms. Lepkowski glares. "Do either of you care to explain why you're late to my class." She asked sternly. I start to explain but Artemis interrupts me.
"Well, Ms, I was getting a drink when Stiles body-slammed me, making me fall down two flights of stairs. At the bottom, I rolled into the bathroom, which I needed to use anyways, but then I realized that I’d forgotten to bring a toilet. I was going back to get it when the carpet grabbed me to talk about grades. At this point I was running because I was pretty late, and I tripped seventeen times trying to go back up the stairs. Eventually I just had to crawl up them. Stiles had to make sure I was okay. Sorry we're late." She says. I gape at her. People snicker in the background and the entire time she managed to keep a straight face. I look to Ms. Lepkowski. If we were in a cartoon, fire would be coming out of her ears. Not smoke, fire.
"Just sit in a seat." She says through clenched teeth. We scurry to the first two seats we find and Ms. Lepkowski continues her lesson. I lean in and whisper to Artemis.
"What the HECK is wrong with you. We could've gotten in so much trouble!" She shrugs.
"We would've been fine. Don't over react." She says and leans back in her seat. I roll my eyes and move my attention to the teacher.
--After Class--
The bell rings and Artemis gets up from her seat. I get up as well and grab her arm. She looks back at me. "What?" She asks.
"Come with me. I want to introduce you to some of my friends."
"Okay." I lead her to Scott's locker. Where Lydia, Isaac, Allison, and Scott are.
"Hey, guys." I say. They look up and greet me.
"Who's the girl?" Lydia asks. Allison nudges her.
"Don't be rude." She scolds. I chuckle and Artemis waves at them.
"Hi. I'm Artemis. I'm new here." She says. The others say hi to her and she turns her attention to Scott. "You were just in history with us, right?"
"Yeah. I saw the whole excuse fiasco." He says and she laughs.
"Oh yeah. That. That was fun." I laugh at her response and we all head to science with Mr. Harris.
--Lunch--
I didn't see Artemis last period so I search for her throughout the cafeteria. I spot her heading towards me. I smile and wave. "You so like her." Lydia says. I snap my neck towards her.
"No I don't." I says.
"Yes you do." Isaac counters. I start to protest but Artemis arrives so I stop.
"Hey, guys." She says.
"Hey. Are you going to eat?" Allison asks, when she realizes that Artemis doesn't have a lunch. She glances around and nods.
"I will but not just yet." What does that mean. We all talk for about ten minutes before she gets up and grabs her bag.
"Where are you going?" Isaac asks.
"To the bathroom." She says.
"With your backpack." I say. She nods.
"Do you have a problem with that?" I put my hands up in surrender.
"Nope. None at all." She grins and walks off. I turn to the others. Scott looks at me.
"Are we sure we want to be friends with her?" Scott asks.
"Why wouldn't we?" Lydia says, skeptically.
"Well, what if she's not okay with the whole supernatural stuff. She's gonna find out sooner or later. She doesn't seem like the kind of girl to really be able to handle this."
"I'm sure she would be fine." I say. Allison nods in agreement.
"Yeah, maybe. But are we really sure?" Scott's counters.
"Well, we could always find out." Isaac suggests. I sigh.
Great.
