the party was currently in mikes basement, planning on having a huge slumber party. the four boys, will, lucas, mike, and dustin were gathered around the table, playing d&d.

el was beside the couch, sitting on the floor. max had been sitting beside el, laying down on her stomach.

"cast protection!" dustin screeched, and the boys started arguing whether he should cast protection or fireball.  max rolled her eyes. she looked over to el, who was already staring at her. el fake smiled awkwardly.

max had caught her staring at her. max smiled back, blushing slightly.

el's eyes slowly dropped from maxs blue, sparkling eyes to her lips, her thoughts drifting off to her and hoppers conversation last night. "max!" lucas yells, and both girls look over in his direction.

"should we watch ghostbusters or back to the future?" he asks, holding the cds to both of the movies. "we finished the round," will adds. max rolls her eyes. "i don't care, they both suck," she replies.

"just choose one!" both dustin and lucas yell. "okay- ghostbusters," she decides. then the four boys scamper over to the small, boxy tv which was sitting in the corner of the basement.

el checked the small watch on her wrist. it was currently 5pm. "come on!" dustin calls out to both her and max. el gets up and max follows behind her.

she sits down on the couch and max sits beside her-  extremely close. dustin and mike run up the stairs while lucas struggles to get the movie playing, will watching him. max leans into el, barely noticing that she's doing so.

el blushes lightly, glancing over at max out of the corner of her eye, but she turns her head when she hears a big bang coming from the stairs.

both max and lucas do the same when dustin comes tumbling down the stairs, a giant bowl of popcorn in his hands. "whoops," he grins awkwardly, sitting down next to lucas and placing the bowl beside him.

mike soon follows behind, carrying about four blankets. el and max giggle at the sight of him. he threw two blankets on top of max and el, then three on top of and beside dustin, will, and lucas.

"no, lucas, you put it in this way," will finally says, grabbing the cd and putting it in the right way. "right, i knew that," lucas laughs awkwardly.

once the movie starts, the boys chatter quiets down, max snuggles closer to el, leaning her head on her shoulder. it wasn't too noticeable, but el noticed. her face immediately turned red when she did- even though she knew that max didn't really mean anything by it.

the movie was about to end. will, mike, dustin, and lucas were scattered across the floor, munching on the popcorn which dustin had brought, while max and el were sitting silently on the couch, cuddling, and covered in blankets.

"shhh, guys, were gonna miss the ending!" mike announces, and all the boys immediately shut up.
