Goodbye, George

"Do you, Y/F/N, take George to be your husband?"
"I do."
"And do you, George Harrison, take
Y/N to be your wife?"
"I do."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

"Yes, George..." I mutter in my sleep, adoring the second dream I was in. Unfortunately, it was crudely interrupted by the sound of my mom vociferously beeping the car horn. I was still in George's delicate grasp, not wanting to get out of it. He slept like an angel.

I sighed and tried to circumspectly pull myself out of George's tight embrace, which was harder than I thought. To my surprise, he awoke and only pulled me closer.

"Please don't leave me, pumpkin," he whined. His voice was croaky and raspy, and I could tell he had been crying. He nuzzled his head close to my neck as I felt his tears run down the sides.

"Can't you hide? I've known you for years, Y/N, and I know that you're all about creating genius plans!" His words caused me to begin tearing up, eventually turning into an emotional breakdown.

"It moved way too fast, George. If I had just one more day, maybe, but she gave me the news and just expected me to go with it." My heart shattered more and more as I spoke.

"Alright, lovebirds, it's time to separate. You've had your night." My mom insolently yelled as she pulled me out of George's wonderful grip and shoved me into the car.

"Y/N! Wait! I want you to have this," George sobbed as he handed me a box with the prettiest heart shaped necklace in it. It had the words "George and Y/N" engraved into it.

"I spent all my money into that. I wanted to give it to you when we accomplish our promise, but now that you're leaving, there's no point. Wear it in remembrance of me."

"George... this is the best gift I've ever gotten. I'll wear it every day." I put it on right away, and smiled as it sparkled in the sunlight.

"Come on, Y/N, it's time to go." My mom practically screamed. "No..." I whimpered, but she couldn't care less. She drove off, not even thinking about the forever lasting friendship with a promise of marriage that we would never break. The last glimpse I got of George was him sitting on the concrete, crying and waving goodbye.
