"You can't stop me." Growled the dragon

I aimed my glimmering sword at its heart.

My weapon sliced through the air and into its simmering scales

Where it has settled from its start.

A mound of ashes surrounds my feet

I watch the sky brim with tears

as the stained uniform of soldiers defeat

confirms my greatest fear.

A cold hard sky presses down

as I look into his eyes.

"Come with me" he mouths,

but I never compromise.

Hot sparks crackle and burst forth from the source

an elder in dark robes rummages through his scrolls

seeking out the solution

to a problem that is far from old.

A crumpled piece of parchment

balled up in my fist.

My face set in concentration

as I look out over the Sea of Mist.

A creaking ship I board upon

is led by a dauntless crew.

They glance at me with looks of wonder

and murmur to each other "Who?"

A smoking battle appears on the shore

full of glinting armor and sober robes

anguished cries escape dying lips

as the enemy begins to close.

My boots hit the ground

as I unsheathe my rage.

My fate has come around

and it is crucial that I do not delay.
