I watch the mysterious black car drive away in awe. My thoughts are scattered, as to what I should do. It's not like I really have someone to run to, my best friend is off with her family somewhere, and my so called family isn't mentally there. If I told my other friends what just happened, I doubt they would believe me, I hardly even believe what just happened.
As always, I pick myself up, and dust my self off. I decide to put this incident into the back of my mind, and just try to forget about it. It was probably a mistake or some kind of morbid prank some friends pulled on me. Right now all I can do is move on, It's not like I got any information on them anyways.
I pick up my skateboard and decide to meet up with Brian and his other friends as planned. As I'm riding down the road once again, I feel the wind push my long hair behind my shoulders. Feeling the cool breeze relaxes me, and I start to get lost in my thoughts.
I remind myself to put on my best face as I see the skate park up ahead, with my partying friends. I don't want to give them any reason to question me.
I wave at Brian, and I receive his goofy grin as he motions me to come closer.
"It took you long enough, I was staarting to get worried." he said playfully.
I noticed he slurred his words a little, which meant he was already past a buzz, and kind of made me a little jealous.
"I ran into my friend on the way here and we talked for a bit. I'm hoping you didn't drink all the alcohol" I said anxiously.
"Well damn, get the girl a beer already, she sounds like she needs a buzz." he said as he motioned to his friend to go grab one.
His friend tossed a bud wiser towards my way, and I caught it with one hand.
"Nice catch, my names Dan by the way." he said, giving me a wink.
"Nice meeting you, Dan.." I said sarcastically, and maybe a bit to harsh.
"Uh, yeah I heard a lot about you lately, Brian won't stop talking about you." Dan started to flinch as Brian slapped him to make him shut up. He kept talking anyways, "Yeah, he says he just wants to get lost in your green eyes, and tell you how he really feels." he said laughing in between words. Brian finally got Dan to the ground and basically had him a choke hold. I just laughed at how dumb they looked and chugged my beer. As it went down, it burned my throat, but it felt good and somewhat refreshing.
"Alright, alright, alright!"Brian said, as he gave up the awkward wrestling match, "I promise I won't tell her anymore of your weird fantasies." I couldn't help but stare at them and laugh, they fought like little brothers.
Although, they were acting childish, I started to find Dan a little attractive. He had a big grin with white, straight teeth. His green flannel shirt made his blue eyes stand out, and every once in awhile you'd see him flip his blonde bangs out of his eyes. Brian wasn't bad looking either though, he has the darkest brown eyes i've ever seen, and to top it off, he has dark, messy hair.
I feel some stress lift off my shoulders as I'm hanging out with these guys that are actually making me laugh.
"So, are we going to do something, or am I going to watch you guys flirt for the rest of the night?" I said, jokingly.
"Yeah sure, whatever you want, sweet heart." Dan said as he handed me another beer.
"Uh, since it's just the three us of, I guess we can just skate.." I said, trying to not blush.
"Sounds alright to me... But first, we have to chug the beer we have in our hands, and whoever loses, ah, well they just fucking lose." Brian said, competitively.
Dan and I both rolled our eyes. You could hear our cans click open in sync.
In unison, we counted, " One, two, three!"
I started to laugh at Brian at on how determined he was to win, I felt some beer escape from my mouth and run down my neck. The trick to win a challenge like this is to just chug it and only stop for quick breath breaks.
Surprisingly, I was the first to finish. I tossed my empty can at the beer cooler, and picked up my skateboard. After me came Brian, and then finally, Dan.
"Well, I guess I'm just a fucking loser." Dan said with a frown, but you could see his smile start to break through.
They both threw their empty cans towards the cooler, and started to race to the park. I went after them, trying to control my laughter. I haven't had this much fun in awhile.
For about fifteen minutes or so, we show off our tricks, make fun of each other, and just screw around. I feel my heart pumping hard in my chest from running around, so I walk down to the concrete steps and sit. I watch the guys skate for a minute, but I take my attention off of them when I see someone walk up to the park.
This guy caught my eye immediately. All I could think was, damn, he is very attractive. He had dark hair just like Brian, and had light, hazel eyes. He looked around our age, but was kinda tall. As he got closer he waved at us shyly. "Ah, is it all right if I skate with you guys?" he asked genuinely. "Yeah, no problem." the guys said together.
I couldn't figure out why I'm suddenly so nervous, it can't be because he's attractive.
I stayed glued to the step I've be sitting on, watching the three of them skate. I notice this guy is kind of muscular. I suddenly get a sickening feeling in my stomach, and feel I need to leave.
Grabbing my skateboard quickly, the guys notice me start to leave. "Hey Khris, you alright.?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, I think i'm going to head home now, I"ll catch up with you later. It's been a lot of fun"
As I start to get closer to the road, I feel a warm hand on my shoulder. I look behind me, and it's him.
"Hey, sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I didn't introduce myself correctly, my name is Mark." He puts his hand out for me to shake. I awkwardly shake his hand to be polite. "Oh, you didn't make me feel uncomfortable, I just ah, need to head home."
"Alright, well, will I see you around here again anytime soon?' he said, trying to keep the conversation going. " Yeah, probably.." " Well, just in-case I don't, can I have your number? he said very casually for just meeting someone. " Ah, sure, I guess."
He pulled out a sharpie out of his pocket and gave it to me to write on his hand. "This better be your real number or I'll track you down." he said with a playful grin.
I knew he was joking but it caught me off guard and he definitely noticed it did.
"You know i'm joking, right.. Don't look so nervous." 'Yeah, of course...I said in an not convincing tone. "Well I'll let you go home, I'll catch you later..alright?" Yeah, text me whenever.."
I got on my skateboard and decided to go to Anna's house, I'm not gonna go home for a couple days at least.
As I rode up their drive way, I saw that they were still not home. I walk to up their porch and see a blanket and a pillow left outside on their swing. Feeling lucky that they left a pillow and blanket outside, I hop on the swing and curl up with the blanket. I cleared my mind, and let sleep take me away for a little bit.
