Friends
Have you ever wondered what the word 'friend' means? I searched it. The three main definitions were:
1. A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard
2. A person who gives assistance; patron; supporter
3. A person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile
But what really is a friend? Someone who supports you. Someone who is there for you no matter what. Someone who genuinly cares for you. In life you may find that people don't show their true colors until it is too late. Friendship shouldn't be forced or faked.
I had a best friend once. We were incerperable. Practically joined at the hip. But then one day we got into an argument and she showed her true colors. Things aren't always what they seem, neither are people. I thought that I could tell her anything. I though I could trust her. Little did I know that every secret and every detail would come back to hurt me in the long run. But hey, shiz happens.
However, I do have this one friend. I would honestly die for her. She means so much to me. She knows how to make me laugh, how to support me, and how to just be there whenever I needed. That's what a friend should do. The two main keys to friendship are trust and support. Without them you can't really have a friendship.
It's crazy how people change. Now I'm not just talking about that crazy height change the guys (who you used to tower over) go through in middle school. I mean like personallity wise. Sometimes its for the better. A real jerk may leave one summer, than come back to school in the fall as one of the most loving people you know.
But sometimes its for the worse. One day she's your best friend, the next you can't stand being in the same room as each other.
"Life sucks and then you die," Says Jacob Black from Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga.
But you don't have to let your life suck. You can do amazing things with it. Just don't let the negative things in your life over come the positive. Optimism is an important thing. Don't be a pessimistic person.
So basically choose your friends carefully. Don't let a wrong decision come back to bite you in the end.
