I opened my eyes to be met by the aroma of freshly cooked food. I looked around the room to find Vic. He looked at me smiled.
"How long have you been here?" I asked slightly confused.
"For about an hour or so. I didn't want to wake you, you looked so peaceful sleeping," My cheeks started to blush as he said that.
"C-can you get me a drink?"
"Yeah, of course," Vic said.
Vic rose from his seat and edged towards the door.
"Make it a Starbucks," I added.
"Of course," He smiled and left the room.
It took me a minute to adjust my body burned slightly from the pain/
"Great to see you're awake and doing well," The brown hair women said and I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"How much longer do I have to stay here?" I groaned in frustration.
"That will depend on you, by the way, you look maybe a few more days until you're up on your feet,"
"I'll be fine can't someone just check me out and look after me?"
"Do you know anyone that would," She asked checking my heartbeat. I hesitated for a second while I come up with an excuse.
"My boyfriend just left to get me a drink. Can't he do it?"
"If he wants he could," She said, and I smiled in response though feeling guilty for using Vic.
"I'll ask when he gets back," I said, and with that, she walked out the room leaving me in complete silence.
Once I was convinced everyone was gone, I started tugging at the needle in my arm. The needle slowly moved causing pain to burn through my body. I took a deep breath and pulled hard jerking the needle from my skin. I whimpered in pain as I pull it from my weak arm.
The sudden outburst caused me to jump as Vic ran grabbing my arm.
"What the hell are you thinking, Kellin?" Tears fell from my cheeks as I looked up into his eyes.
"Take me home," I whisper.
"I can't Kellin they probably won't even let me. I'm no relation to you,"
"You can. I told a nurse that we're a couple," Vic smiled and shook his head.
"Well then let's go home, baby," Vic extended his hand out for me to grab and I responded by throwing my arms in the air.
"I trust you," I say as he picks me up bridal style carrying me out the room.
A few nurses looked at us like we were stupid which we were. Vic signed the paper, and we were cleared to leave.
"Thank you," I say calmly.
"You're welcome," He said.
"Now look after me, daddy," I joked as he puts me down. I walked behind him and jumped on his back.
"Believe me I have been," Vic said, and I wondered what he meant.
I washed the thought out of my mind as I rested my head on his shoulder feeling safe.
Vic carried me all the way to his house which was about two blocks from the hospital. I don't know why but something attracted me to this mysterious boy.
"Do you live alone?" I asked.
"I used to live with my mum, but she kicked me out when I came out since then I've never spoken to her again," Vic replied.
"So I guess you could say I do," He adds.
"I know the feeling," I mumbled.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No one was there for me when I came out. I was forced out of the house and onto the streets — no place to call my home and no one to call a family. I never wanted to show my face again, so I dropped from school where all they have done was spread rumors about me. I didn't want to be on this planet no more and five suicide attempts later and here I am,"
"In my arms?" He questions.
"Well, yeah,"
Once we arrived at Vic's house, he opened the door and walked through. He placed me on the couch and looked at me.
"Just relax, and I'll sort everything," He said as he walked upstairs to grab something.
Vic came back down placing a pillow under my head and tossing a blank over me. I pulled the cover over my head and closed my eyes.
"Everything will be fine in the morning. I promise you," Vic whispered as he kissed my head.
"Hopefully," I said to myself.
I rolled on my side before sleep washed over me.
"Goodnight Kellin,"
"Goodnight, my savior,"
