5 year old Mia Holmes lived in the lap of luxury. The reason is because her mother, Jodie Holmes, was in the CIA. Mia gets everything she wants, has a loving mother, and a nice big house. But, she is a total sweetheart. Mia was the most loveable girl you could ever meet. However, there is a down side. Much like her mother, Mia has a special gift, named Hailey. Who tends to cause trouble for Mia. Now, come along as I tell you the story.

Mia sat in her room playing with her dollhouse. She heard her mother, Jodie, yelling at someone on the phone.

"NOW you want to come see her? I didn't think you cared about her!" Jodie yelled from the kitchen. Mia had to admit, she was a bit curious. She got up from the floor and tiptoed to the kitchen. She pressed her ear to the door.

"Fine, Come and see her then! But just watch yourself while your around us!" Mia saw Jodie slam the phone down with anger. Mia tripped over her own two feet and fell over. She looked up to see Jodie staring down at her. Jodie laughed and picked up Mia.

"sweetheart, where you listening in on my phone call?" Jodie asked the five year old girl. Mia giggled.

"Yes" Mia smiled. Jodie tickled her.

"Mia. That's not a very good thing to do" Jodie said.

"Who was that on the phone?" Mia asked as she nibbled a cookie. Jodie sighed.

"That was your father. He is going to come see you today" Jodie put on a fake smile. She hated the man. He always lied to her and used her. A glass cup flew across the room and collided into the wall. causing it to break. Jodie looked over in that direction.

"Okay. When will he be here?" Mia asked as she looked over at the broken glass. She wasn't sure if that was from Aiden or Hailey. Jodie looked up at the clock and gritted her teeth.

"In about 30 minutes. Is your room clean?" Jodie asked Mia, who shook her head. Jodie gently pushed her towards the stairs.

"Go clean it please" Jodie said as she went to her own room. Not to clean it, but for privacy. She needed to talk to Aiden, but she didn't want Mia to hear. Jodie thought that it wouldn't be right if Mia thought ill of her father. Jodie closed her bedroom door and walked a few feet away from it. She sat down on her bed and took a deep breath. She began to hear Aiden growl.

"I know, we hate Ryan. But Mia means the world to me! Can you please behave tonight so that Mia doesn't get taken away from me?" Jodie said. She heard another growl.

"She's your niece, Aiden! If you won't behave because of me, do it because of Mia!" Jodie said. Aiden made another growl, but this one was a bit softer.

"Yes, I promise to behave as well. Words can't describe how much I hate him. But I will be nice . . . for Mia's sake" Jodie sighed. She decided to quickly brush her hair and pick up some toys that were lying around. Jodie jumped when she heard the bell ring.

"Remember what I said, Aiden" Jodie whispered as she walked over to the door and opened it. A tall man with fair skin, and brown hair stood at the door. One of his brown eyes was covered by an eyepatch. He smiled a bit when he saw Jodie.

"Well, where is our daughter?" Ryan asked. Jodie stepped aside to let him walk into their spacious living room.

"She's upstairs. I'll get her" Jodie went over to the staircase and called Mia's name. Mia skipped down the steps and looked at the tall man that was in her house. Mia ran over to Jodie and hid behind her leg. Ryan kneeled down and looked at the brown haired girl.

"Honey, this is your daddy. Don't be scared" Jodie hugged Mia to comfort her. Mia ran into his arms for a hug. Ryan picked her up and spun her around. Which made Mia giggle. Ryan looked at Mia's shoulder-length brown hair, and her brown eyes. Ryan could not believe how much Mia looked like Jodie.
