I looked at the clock.

10:56pm it read. I really need a drink right now. I was in my pyjamas but that didn't bother me. I grabbed the keys to my Harley-Davidson and headed out. It was late, and my neighbourhood was as unsafe as it gets. But I didn't care. I knew I was safe. Nobody would dare to mess with me.

I was Lola Kingsley. The sister of the renowned gang-leader Nathaniel Kingsley.

~Emmett~

I took a big gulp of the beer and looked around the bar. The Royal Oak was a famous place where all kinds of dangerous people hung out. Gang leaders, drug dealers, you name it. Now I was a bad boy myself, with the motorcycle, the leather jacket and combat boots. But I would never want to be associated with these people. Because once you enter their world, you can't get out. And I have plenty of experience to know how that works out.

I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard the door open. In walked a girl wearing a helmet. The fact that there was a girl in this bar was shocking, but what surprised me more was that she was wearing nothing but a black tank-top and purple pyjamas. All eyes were on her, watching her every move intently.

With one swift move she took off her helmet. She shook her hair and I swear I felt as if it was a movie scene. She looked up and there was a collective gasp across the room. All the eyes which were once staring at her had been diverted elsewhere.

" Whats up with the brunette chick? " I asked the bartender.

" Don't you know who she is? That's Lola Kingsley. " the bartender whispered.

"As in THE Lola Kingsley? " I whispered back in awe. The bartender nodded. No wonder none of them were looking at her anymore. They wouldn't dare.

I felt a presence beside me. I looked up to see her sitting right next to me. Up close she was even more beautiful. Porcelain skin, soft plump red lips and wide icy blue doe-eyes. Man, was she a stunner.

"Hey Danny, get me the usual." She said to the the bartender in a soft, melodious voice.

Danny kept a wine glass in front of her and poured champagne into it.

" Interesting choice." I said to her, surprising her as well as myself. Seems like my lips have a mind of their own.

She looked at me and smirked. Taking the glass she gulped down the liquid in one go. After doing so she stood from her seat beside me and turned towards me.

"Wanna dance?"she said. I did not have a clue what was going on so I just looked at her, confused. Why would she want to dance when nobody else was?

"Come on, it'll be fun." She didn't give me a chance to respond.

Hey Jude by The Beatles was playing.

"I love this song." She softly whispered. Her eyes were closed while she was softly nodding along the beat and there was a genuine smile on her face.

" Hey Jude, don't make it bad.

Take a sad song and make it better.

Remember to let her on to your heart.

And then we can start to make it better."

She just took my hand and dragged me to the dance floor. She wrapped her arms around my neck and laid down her head on my chest. On instinct, I wrapped my arms around her waist. She started swaying from side to side. I mimicked her movements. Having her in my arms felt extremely good and there was an indescribable feeling at the pit of my stomach.

"Hey, I'm Emmett Rosalez." I whispered in her ear.

"And I'm Lola. L-O-L-A , Lola." She whispered back with a smile. There was something about her. Something other than her beauty. Something which attracted me to her. More than it should have.

She was singing along the song and her voice was heaven itself. The song ended and we broke apart.

'' I had fun. And as much as I'd love to stay, its a Tuesday night and I have to be home.'' Lola said giving me a smile.

''Common, I'll walk you out.'' I said to her, returning a smile.

I followed her out. She went and stood beside a motorcycle. Damn, could she get any hotter? Suddenly I felt her arms around me giving me a bone-crushing hug. She squeezed me so tight that I thought she'd break my spine. She had an iron grip.

'' Thank you, Emmet. I hope we meen again soon.'' She said, her warm breath hitting my ear. She pulled back and put on her helmet.

''Wait!'' I shouted. ''Can I have your number?''

She just smiled and said, ''Check your pocket.''

Getting on the bike, she drove off. I checked my back pocket and found a piece of paper. The digits were scrawled very messily. I'll be waiting, it read. I just smiled and shook my head. I got on my motorcycle and sped down the road. I reached home and unlocked the door.

''Mamá, I'm home!'' I called out.

Without waiting for a reply, I headed upstairs to my room. As I tried to get myself to fall asleep, I had only one person on my mind. Lola.

~Lola~

I unlocked the door and got inside. My mind was still focused on the events of tonight. It was the first time anyone had willingly interacted with me. It was a good feeling. The gang life is never something I wanted. I was dragged into it. With so much power also came great danger.

Tomorrow is a big day. I have to meet up with Mark. Mark is from the other gang. Our rival gang. He has been asking to meet me for a while now. Something about settling things once and for all. Might as well get it over with. Nathan would be furious if he came to know that I was doing this. But why should he care? He isn't my brother anymore. He is just a monster. I have broken all ties with him.

I didn't want to be related to a person who killed and never looked back. I didn't want to be a part of the mess he made. But I'm far too involved now, and I don't think I can ever get out.
